My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Based on what others have told me, I'd say that I am friendly, helpful, loyal, determined, ambitious, witty, a smart ass, intellectually curious, generous with my time, energetic, pragmatic, dependable, mature, sincere, and cosmopolitan. Did I mention modest too? That's my second best quality. ;)

Seriously though, I'm not an arrogant guy at all. I feel confident in my abilities, skills, and know what I'm good at. But I also will readily admit to what I suck at and what needs improvement. I'm a pretty introspective person and I tend to be rather brutally honest with myself.

I love physical activity and taking advantage of all the crazy and fun things that L.A. and California have to offer, like hiking, live shows at small clubs, riding my beach cruiser all over town, playing tennis, attending music festivals and live shows, hanging in Malibu or Santa Barbara for the day, flying to San Francisco for the weekend, etc.

I'm on OKC because I'd like to meet girls outside the typical L.A. social settings (i.e., bars, etc.). I figured that I would cast a wider net. I'm sure many ladies are here for a similar reason.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm content with where I am, where I've come from, and where I know I am headed. Nothing is perfect of course, but I enjoy life. I work hard at my profession and I like it for the most part, but I also have many other interests and passions. I'm not a workaholic and I will happily make time for the right girl.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Helping people and making them feel good about their situation in life, whatever that may be. Problem solving. Advocating. Keeping secrets. Calling out BS. Avoiding a-holes. Finding hidden gems of great albums, songs, books, films or places. Pointing out the obscure or absurd.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmm . . . usually my eyes. That I don't abuse the English language. That I'm rather direct. That I’m athletic and energetic. That I don't fake it or try to impress. I guess it depends on the person who meets me.

I get from people a lot that they are surprised to learn I'm originally from Los Angeles. Go figure.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I read a lot, for fun, education and work. The L.A. Times, Daily Journal, Wall St. Journal,, literature, and other assorted legal, business, finance, investing, political, economic, pop culture, and travel stuff.

Music? Far too many artists and albums to name here, but I love discussing and listening to music. One of my passions in life. Here's a glimpse: classic rock, punk, post-punk, new wave, synth pop, goth, shoe gaze, Texas blues, Chicago blues, bee bop, classical, old school heavy metal, hard rock, old school country, old school hip hop (pre-1999-ish) ...

Film? Dramas, political/legal thrillers, old school horror, documentaries, foreign, independent. I hate comedies though. Kidding! Has anyone ever said that? That would be like hating Bob Marley's music.

TV? Not so much. But The Wire is my favorite show of all time. I'm digging True Detective right now. And I definitely watch my sports (college football, NFL, Lakers, Dodgers, lawn and midget bowling).

Food: Japanese and Italian are my favorites. And most any pastry or donut. But I eat pretty much anything. I've eaten some very exotic stuff in my time. Ask me and I'll gross you out.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Other than the obvious (family, friends, air, water, etc.) . . . Rock and blues music (which have gotten me through some shit times for sure). Decent literature. Clients that pay their bills. Clean underwear. Homeless guys to remind me that I'm sane. The opportunity to keep learning.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I don't know ... let me think about it.

No, I sometimes consider the following:

Will I ever succeed in eating all the vegetables I buy from the store without them spoiling first?

Will the interest rate on my savings account ever have a positive number before the decimal point?

Will the Internet ever spawn e-spouses or online marriages?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Eating, drinking, walking, dancing, yelling, telling naughty jokes, looking at art, watching movies, listening to music, reading, etc. Anything and everything. I'm not sure I have that many typical Friday nights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Get me drunk and you might find out.

You are a big-hearted girl who is very sweet, caring, and most importantly, has integrity. These are paramount to me. I'm just not down for a relationship with someone who isn't honest, generous, considerate, and compassionate.

You are interested in finding something that might lead to a real relationship. Or a real friendship or activity buddy. I'm open to all, but I'm at a place where I'm ready to take it to the next level.

You are fun loving and classy.

You have a witty or sarcastic sense of humor.

I also like girls who are intellectually curious or inspired and take an interest in knowing what's going on in the world. If you have a great sense of fashion and style, that's a plus too.

A native Californian wouldn't hurt either.

Here are a few things that I'd like to avoid: materialism; fashion/entertainment/fame obsessions; poor work ethics; serious, unmanaged personal debt; poor relationships with family; bad attitudes; and ignorance of others' feelings.
