My self-summary
Hola, mi nombre es Jesus, but most of my friends call me Jesse. I was born in Mexico, raised in Fort Worth. I love both spots though its been a while since I've been back to my Motherland. My second home is Houston where some near and dear family live.

I have a wide variety of tastes and culture. Every year I try to make it out to Arlington for the Dragon dance over at the Hong Kong market and chow down on some pho. Its been a while since I've been to an art gallery, back in the day I used to go to Art Prostitute in Denton and Nine eyes in Dallas (The owner makes the best spread). Failing that I catch some of the works at the Modern art Museum. If you have any suggestions on gallaries to check out I'm all ears.

I'm big into Philosophy and have taken classes on Aesthetics, South Asian Philosophy, Phenomenology but I'm not a school marm so don't sweat it if you don't know any of it. If you do we can talk shop.

I was born and raised a Catholic, but I identify as a Hindu. I would best put my views this way. Culturally I'm Catholic but intellectually I'm a Hindu. Hinduism is more a way of life than a religion and there are aspects of it that I agree with. Still I respect whatever faith (or lack thereof) one believes in, since you have to find your own path.
I am partying with, a thousand monkeys, and Shakespeare
What I’m doing with my life
learning how to mend worn turkish rugs. I'm still learning but I'm confident I'll be able to do it in my sleep later on. Working on them is very meditative, you have to have the patience of a monk. During the day I work with special needs/pre k childern, the kids are awesome.
I’m really good at
Djing. I have been spinning since I was 17. I have spun on all manner of dj gear, from hard as hell to spin on belt drive(friend's gear) to Ahh this is the set up!(Bent lounge downtown fort worth) The most challanging set up was at 1415 in Houston. If you can spin on their setup you got my respect. I play the drums fairly well, but I'm getting schooled on some new methods by my amazingly talented friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
Most of the time people notice my sense of fashion. I try to make it to thrift stores to find some cool threads. I was walking the streets of San Miguel on new years and I came across these badass white suede shoes, so if it pops out at me I'm going to pick it up! (Ha! the store owner where I bought them kept telling me my money was fake! "Es Falso, este dinero es falso. I had to exchange my money to pesos :-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
War and peace drops like the atom bomb! Nausea, the stranger, Blood Meridian, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Franny and Zooey, A Protrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Ulysses, the Bhagavad Gita, A Clockwork Orange, etc.

Movies:
Fantastic planet, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, Menace 2 society, the Doors, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Akira, the Wall(seen it at least 17 times) Robocop, Boys in the Hood, Tales from the Hood, Pi, 12 monkeys, pulp fiction, etc.

Music

I be doing it up Texas style!
What does it take to get you wild?
My mentality is getting iller, killer
Instinct that's trying to infiltrate, but wait

House, Drum and Bass, Downtempo, Classic Rock, Jazz, Sitar (Ravi Shankar goes hard!) dub, reggae, and of course my band.

I've recently got back into east coast hip hop (Crooklyn Dodgers, Erule, A tribe called Quest, etc.) Not that there is anything wrong with the Crunk Rap its just that I'm moving in a different direction music wise. And each genre of music has something to offer, no matter how bad you think it is. Merle Haggard is tight. T.I. has sampled crystal waters and Johnny Cash covered a Nine Inch Nails song.

Food:
All kinds of nourishment such as carnitas, sushi, menudo, pho and standard fare. I'm up for any kind of food at least once.
The six things I could never do without
Music. Friends. My Turntables. My Drums. Books. And last but not least are dreams. If you know how to lucid dream then you know what I am talking about! If you don't just ask.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I could go back in time and steal a children's book idea it would be "Harold and the purple crayon" that is such an original book...

Ultimate reality, what beats go good with other beats. Mash ups. What I'm going to eat for today.

Examination of Time:

From the moment we enter this life we are in the flow of it. We cannot defy it. We cannot even speed it up or slow it down.

Or can we?

Its time that we cared enough to have a dream. Its time to look at the world and embrace it before all this incredible beauty is lost for all time.

All that we are is the result of all that we have thought. It is founded on thought. It is based on thought.
Buddha, The Dhammapada
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing World of Warcraft, I'm a 12th class druid. Nah not really though I did play D&D when I was a kid (Maybe this should go in the private section). I'm either practicing the drums, watching movies or hanging out with friends depending on the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Rober Duvall played my father!

Now for a real one. I love working with kids but the one thing that literally shocks my nerves is a sharpie or marker on construction paper. It makes me shudder like no other ever since I was lad. I usually make them use crayons or I stay at a safe distance from their drawing/doodlings.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–32
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
you're up for making stencil art, going to art shows, or plain just destroying art. Pablo Picasso said every act of creation is an act of destruction. I say that wisdom cuts both ways. Every act of destruction is an act of creation.
