My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Oh self summary...

I really suck at talking about myself, and when I end up inevitably having to, I say too much.

Here's the long and short-

I'm fairly active with many hobbies; I like bicycling a lot. do you? lets ride! I used to ride the motorized kind, and it still hurts to say that, but I was in a nasty accident and decided to take a break (wasn't my fault- people are totally idiots!). I like working on anything mechanical with my friends, especially old cars and stuff (I have a 35 year old Subaru that I'm restoring). I am an active artist and show my work once or twice a year. I'm an industrial designer by trade, but that's such a limiting term. I like going to concerts that involve bands your probably never even heard of before, but if you like I'll let you hear them! I really enjoy finding hole in the wall bars in this city. Seedy bars are great and all, but what I'm really looking for is character! I enjoy being out and about, going on adventures and exploring new places, so long as it feels legal.

I'm basically looking for someone who wants to do some of those things with me. I'm looking for someone who wants to go on local and not so local trips, journeys, adventures, you name it! If it sounds crazy I'm willing to give it a shot!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I generally spend about two thirds of my day at work. When I am not slaving away for pennies, I am working on art, side projects involving sheet metal stuff, art or my car. Maintaining a fleet of vehicles that are 30+ years old can be a lot of work but I feel it's very satisfying! I've learned so much I'm practically a mechanic now!

I'm hoping I can take a break from the mechanic stuff for a bit and get back to my art. It's my real passion and I hope I can make it my full time job in the future.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
well, it used to be my beard. it was truly impressive. then I shaved off part of it and looked like a civil war general/english gentleman/resident of southern rural north america, and decided I didn't own enough confederate flags to don such a dignified facial hair configuration.

Sometimes I have a really awesome moustache, but my lack of a suitable 1990s ford econoline van with no windows in the back prevents me from really and truly rocking it out to it's fullest extent.

Most of the time, people notice my glasses and tell me I look like Jermaine Clement. I don't think my lips are big enough to make me look like Jermaine Clement.

Right now I have long hair and a beard. Depending on who you talk to I either look like Dr. Gaius Baltar or what white people think Jesus looked like.

I don't read much, but I like reading about history.

I probably know too much about tv shows and movies. I will say that my litmus test for whether or not we will get along is the 1991 Paul Verhoeven classic "Total Recall". I'm sorry but if you hate that movie it just won't work out....

I listen to a wide variety of music. Anything from Afrobeat, late 70s/early 80s soft rock (it's so smooth!), 60s and 70s country, post hardcore DC scene, 90s emo music (takes me back to high school!), old school hip hop (gotta love the Chronic), soul music, jazz, indie rock. Basically, as long as it's not songs about Jesus or on Top 40 radio I'll listen to it.

I like to eat most kinds of food. I'm unapologetic about my carnivorous tendencies but I'm down with vegetarian food sometimes as well.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
family, cats, glasses, bike, iPhone, pen
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What Carl Sagan had to say.
The un-comprehend-able vastness and complexity of the cosmos.
How we can travel faster than light.
Where I'm going to ride my bike next.
What Dan Savage has to say.
Why Joss Whedon keeps making really awesome shows that keep getting cancelled.
How to make enough money so I can do what I want to do.

Sometimes I like to think I am more interesting than I actually am. I think it comes with being a white person.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Generally, I can be found in the westport/39th street area with some close friends knocking back some cold ones. The Hi Dive is my favorite hang out, just so you know. Sometimes I stick around the house and work on projects or art or whatever, but usually that only happens when I'm in the mood for it...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm one of those crazy people who likes trains. Shh don't tell anyone.
