My self-summary
Hi! This used to be a extremely long profile, this version is particularly tightly edited. I know it's still quite long, but you should have seen it before! (So bear with me...)
I'm a unique individual and not in a "we're all unique little snow flakes" kind of way; I get the feeling that below the surface I am unlike anyone else I have ever met, not in a "I'm the Hulk" kind of way, I can -to a certain degree- blend buts it's an act; it's usually easier than explaining who I really am. There is no act in this profile, hopefully it -I go into quite a bit of depth in many of my answers to the questions- will go some way to explaining myself; unfortunately this profile reveals less than a photograph reveals of a iceberg.

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
― Albert Einstein
This is one of my favourite quotes, it represents my views quite well. The fact it is attributed to Einstein, is not the point, I'd like it even if someone horrid like Margaret Thatcher said it. It sums up my world view almost to a T.
So it follows that I am a science based Skeptic (NOT cynic); this is what's at my core, it defines how I think; an open mind but not so open my brain falls out. Agnostic Atheist. Anti-theist. Pacifist. Environmentalist. Progressive Leftist. Cis feminist or feminist ally, I don't care what the label is. Humanist+, I added the '+' because my concern goes beyond humans. Vegetarian who is working on becoming vegan. Animal welfare is the bullshit people come up with to tell themselves their greed is okay; animal rights or don't bother! Pro-LGBTQIA rights (and any other letters representing people that belong in that acronym). Ethical non-smoker, non-drinker and no (non-medicinal) drugs; though prohibition does not work. Godless Maniac, if you know what I'm referencing to stop reading and message me!

Any questions? Ask me or the internet; most of the above have an online presence.
What I’m doing with my life
working at a early childhood learning centre and studying a degree in early childhood and primary teaching. I want to help prepare the people who are going to have to deal with the mess we are making of this planet. I find children incredibly interesting, especially the different ways they see the world.

Also I try to go for a bike ride as much as I can. I should go to the movies more.
I’m really good at
(I hate selling myself, I prefer to let people figure out this stuff themselves but here goes...), thinking deeply, playing 'Pick That Logical Fallacy', writing short stories, making people laugh/think, going fast on my bike, eating large amounts of food (it isn't as fun as it sounds), I used to train with a youth circus; so clowning, stilt walking (it's like riding a bike) and other tricky stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've noticed many people don't know what to write in this 'essay', I do because people often tell me that I'm tall (I've noticed myself), notice that I'm skinny (but usually only acknowledge it after I make some sort of self deprecating joke about it) and want to touch my longish dense curly hair.
I figure this means I look like a mop in human form ;p (one such example of afore mentioned self deprecating humour) fortunately I have more personality, wit and charm... or at least I hope so! But the first thing people will notice about my personality is that I am shy around strangers.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Abridged lists, trying to keep it short... (I'm not that good at it I know)
Books: Scott Westerfield, Terry Pratchet and Edgar Allen Poe. I am reading Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses. I was enjoying Richard Dawkins' The Greatest Show on Earth until I lost it on a bus. :{
Movies: 7 Psychopaths, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill (1&2), The new batman movies, The Avengers, super hero movies generally except the shit ones, Hot Fuzz, V for Vendetta and some others...
Shows: QI, Community (for those who watch it I am like Abed with many of Britta's opinions and apparently a Professor Duncan side too; so I'm looking for someone who will be a Troy to my Abed), The Simpsons, Archer, Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, anything by the Chaser team on the ABC, the Gruen Transfer/Planet/Nation etc,, Misfits, Breaking Bad, Being Human (UK series), Black Books, The Young Ones, The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh. Yes I do watch the ABC a lot...
Music: Love punk (especially sXe) and metal... Good Clean Fun, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Against Me!, Rise Against, Propagandhi, Fugazi, Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rammstein, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Tim Minchin,
I do NOT like Lady Gaga, I don't care if she supports equality or not, her music is trash! I also don't like indie (as in hipster not all self-published) music, am I the only one who has noticed it's pop music for people who listen to triple j* or think they're clever music snobs. Hipsters are so mainstream...
*The best thing I can say about triple j is they aren't commercial radio...
Podcasts: Citizen Radio (I'm a Pirate!), Godless Bitches (it's alright; their feminists) and The Skeptics Guide to The Universe.
Food: Large amounts of preferably vegan food but will settle at this stage in my life for vegetarian but I'm cutting back. Yes, I'm skinny and need to eat tonnes... Don't hate me! It's a curse!
I love Chinese, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Asian food generally and Italian...
The six things I could never do without
1) Intellectual stimulation
2) My iPhone (a way of accessing sources of intellectual stimulation)
3) podcasts (coming from said iPhone, providing intellectual stimulation)
4) My MacBook Air (provides support for the iPhone, along with other good stuff such as intellectual stimulation. Do you see a theme?)
5) Music (which often comes from my iPhone)
6) Chocolate soy milk (delicious and guilt free; no animals were harmed in the making of this great body fuel)
*Note: I could actually do without all these "things" but a list of "six things" I could actually never do without has become a lame bloated cliche.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how you should probably stop eating other animals, because it probably contradicts your other opinions like; love of animals, concern about climate change and the environment in general. Or other ways you must be experiencing cognitive dissonance for example if you are a social justice activist who supports tobacco companies by smoking their cigarettes...
Skepticism.
Also thinking about my own thinking and trying to find flaws. Yes that's skepticism but I thought I should illustrate that aspect.

AND inventing super heroes for the marvel universe, especially X-men...
On a typical Friday night I am
at home watching TV or on my MacBook. I know lame right? But when clubs and pubs play music I don't like, too loud to maintain an intelligent conversation with someone who is drinking something that makes them dumber anyway, I can't see the point in going out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is I think less of you if answer these essays with the same cliche as half of OkCupid like for this essay writing "if its priv8 y wud i rite it ere on da internets lol". That annoys me the most out of all obviously the thing you're writing about isn't it then, if you are a private person (I don't have any problem with private people) just write the most private thing you are WILLING to admit; maybe for you it's that you don't like brussels sprouts, maybe you have a pet whose name is an amusing pun based on the name of someone famous or you want to meet new people. I don't know what it is (I'm not in the vegetation outside your bedroom window, though you can ask yourself how I knew it was there...), but I know it's something, even if it's not really that private. If you don't want to admit anything at all I don't know how you got this far on social media, because the first step in social media is admitting you exist...

Also I hate the star ratings... I feel really creepy giving another being a rating out of 5... Out of 6 would be okay though... :p (not really)

Lastly, I'm annoyed at myself for having more than one answer to a question asking for one answer and one of those answers criticises people for not answering the question properly... That was a joke about semantics. Chances are you didn't think it was funny... But if you did... OH DAM! You're going to like me! ;)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 19–23
  • Located anywhere
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You read my whole profile (which you probably have to have arrived here at this end of my profile, so this is a little redundant) and think we could have an amicable and interesting conversation but if you message me, don't expect me to just conjure conversation out of nothing with no input from you.
If you want to ask me where I get my protein, my godless morality or how I can have fun sober, don't; you'll just look and feel silly and I would feel bad about the metaphorical fish in the metaphorical barrel that I had shot with my metaphorical gun.
And don't tell me science and skepticism suck all of the mystery from the universe, I'm happy to point out the wonder and mystery of the universe though, if you have momentarily misplaced (/can't find) it...
