My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm excited to be in San Francisco, doing the tech thing, after living in Switzerland for a couple of years and getting my Ph.D. I mix skiing, crossfit, discussing politics, and swing dancing with super geeky interests like board games.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Doing things I haven't done before.

At work, I'm part of a small team at a big company. We count things and use the numbers to make other things better! I've also spent some time looking for the deep secrets of the universe with big machines and fancy math.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Taking any conversation and making it meta.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The solid gold genius of everything I say and do! … That's definitely not true.

Recently, I thought Ancillary Justice was am amazing combination of emotional exploration, social commentary, and tweaks of usual tropes. In general, I'm a big fan of thick history books (Battle Hymn of the Republic, Catherine the Great) and fiction like Game of Thrones, Ender's Game, or Anathem.

On TV: The Wire and Mad Men when I'm feeling serious, New Girl when I'm not. Radio: Planet Money, Fresh Air, This American Life.

Food: Good, holey, yeast bread I've made myself. And, after deprivation in Europe: peanut butter.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A hard problem to think about, a good hot coffee, quiet time alone, strange people around me, challenging exercise, something new to learn.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Maybe: cooking dinner and watching a movie with friends.
Occasionally: dancing with profound lack of grace at a concert.
Rarely, but not rarely enough: working hard, at work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a connoisseur of lemonade.
