I just moved to Kalamazoo to attend a PhD program at WMU.
I'd rather sit down and have a conversation then have an activity partner, but I still like live music, sports, dancing (though I don't claim to dance well) and generally going out and causing a ruckus.

I used to be a bit of a "punk" I had 8 piercings for awhile, but I took the vast majority of them out. That being said I've calmed down a bit and while still being a bit iconoclastic, Ive been able to focus more on following my intellectual interests. I still gravitate towards people who are a bit out there aesthetically, but definitely prefer a more academic/intellectual mindset.

I hold very high expectations of myself and other people; we have one life to enjoy why not make the most of it? I stay active politically, am a die hard progressive (though what's so progressive about wanting equal human rights for all people?)

I love music, I will have something on almost constantly. I'll listen to almost anything but I've been really big into indie and underground hip hop lately. I don't particularly like rap, country, or opera.

I also have a somewhat odd obsession with pirates, lawn gnomes, and drawing pictures with crayons. As if it needed to be said, I'm quirky and enjoy taking a good laugh as far as it needs to go.

I'm a grad student, hoping to become a professor some day. I love what I do otherwise I wouldn't be doing it.

Most things that I put the work into; no joke if you're going to do something do it right.

That being said nothing overly specific comes to mind, I love to cook, so we'll go with that.

The first thing people notice about me is usually my height, I'm about 6'5".

My favorite book right now is "Catfish and Mandela", but I love reading, Hemingway, Rand, Vonnegut, and Camus are among my favorite authors.

I'm a total movie buff too, though usually people find my choices of movies depressing but some of my favorites are Fight Club, Repo Man, Snatch, The Boonedock Saints, Pulp Fiction, The Believer, Desperado, Once upon a time in Mexico, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Death to Smoochy, American History X, Twelve Monkeys, True Romance, The Waking Life.

I have horrible spelling and grammar because I have a fine motor skill problem that made my handwriting so bad that I had to use computers for everything from 3rd grade onward...it's gotten a lot better but it's still not pretty. Also those little icons at the bottom of my page bug me to no end, who are they to say I'm less optimistic at any given point in time!

You like going out, dancing, playing/watching sports, sitting down for conversations over coffee, reading, or just think we'd get along, I trust peoples judgment; honestly I'm open to almost anything, but here's some things that will get you black listed.

Is twilight, or harry potter on your favorite book list? You probably won't get along with me all too well.

Do most of your clothing have a brand name written on the front, or on the ass of your pants? Leave me alone.

Do u lik 2 talk lik dis? It bugs me a lot.

Do you regularly vote republican? Don't believe that homosexual couples should be able to merry? Or otherwise think that there are rights people should be neglected? Don't talk to me.
