So how does one objectively self-summarize?
Unlike the typical guy:
I am not into sports. I have no interest, and am completely
apathetic towards them. This does not mean I don't like to exercise
or go for walks or find adventure. I walk all the time. I destroy
My reality is devoted to the creative: music, literature, art. I
play multiple instruments and am constantly writing and recording
music. As an information sponge I always try to learn new things,
about anything... history, physics, astronomy, what defines
life.... I constantly work on personal growth. I love to listen to
I am extremely intense in my creative world, but very open and
relaxed towards people.
I cherish ironic, dark, and gritty humor. A dirty mind is a
terrible thing to waste. I adore the absurd and silliness. Friends
are my family.
Also, I am not married and have never been married. I have no kids
and don't want any.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a degree in Audio Engineering and now a degree in Music, with plans to someday open my own recording studio. I worked in a music library, but am now an outside contractor for recording concerts in Charlotte. How awesome is that?!
Also, some of my music: https://www.reverbnation.com/skovy
Yes. Shameless self promotion.
I’m really good at
writing music, playing music, singing, making people laugh right at
the moment they take a drink so it blows out of their nose. And I
rock in the kitchen.
Walking. I have walked nearly all of Charlotte. Seriously.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I laugh a lot, and really loud. Really really loud. Oh yeah,
and I'm short.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
anything written by Douglas Adams, Joan D. Vinge, Alastair
Reynolds, Timothy Zahn, Dean Koontz... I read insane amounts of
science fiction. And Calvin & Hobbes. e. e. cummings, Wallace
Stevens, Jim Carroll... I have an enormous book collection.
I love Indian food, Mexican, Chinese, Ethiopian, Thai...
I love all styles of music but get picky about content. I like it
unpredictable, and crave intelligent lyrics, or really strange and
funny ones... Beck, Primus, Jeff Buckley, Andrew Bird, Tool,
Radiohead, Them Crooked Vultures, Chopin, Brahms, Nikita Koshkin,
Muse, Aesop Rock, Saul Williams, Psaap, Deftones, Charles Mingus,
Thelonious Monk, John Zorn, Carlo Gesualdo, Mike Patton, Foo
Fighters, John Hiatt, Paul Westerburg...
I usually listen to NPR and the only tv I really watch is Public TV
and Castle (Nathan Fillion is AWESOME) although I remain a loyal
fan of Firefly and of course The X-Files. And The Muppets.
The six things I could never do without
my guitar. a V5 Pilot pen and paper. someone to share a warped
sense of humor with. a good stout beer. a quest. air. Is that six
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to take over the world with horrible puns. the villainy of
piano gnomes. quantum physics. how awesome it would be to have a
spaceship. does every action we take actually create an infinite
number of new universes?
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. Or running away from the aliens that keep trying to abduct
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i have a fear of falling into the toilet after taking a shower.
You should message me if
Mad libs tell you to! ...if you know what mad libs are. Or if you
think I'm weird enough to be interesting. If you can challenge my
mind. And if you know the obscure reference as why i generally
don't capitalize the letter "i" in the first person reference.
