So I'm learning that okcupid is basically a place people come to look for people in much the same respect as shopping for groceries. I'm doing this so that when you look at my profile like the hundreds of other guys you've seen, you'll know immediately if I'm worth your time:
My Nutritional Label reads: funny, fun loving, deep, kind, understanding, intelligent, confident, ambitious, open minded, and romantic. These are points I feel should be called out about me that are for your benefit, and more importantly, yours to take advantage of.
However, I am not born with all the physical features you might wish I had, so this leaves me with two options: those who have set the bar below the fictional "Dreamy Hunk", or the rare girl who is attracted to my strengths and my worth more than anything else. It'd be cool if you were that last one.
If your desire for Mr. Dreamy is stronger than your desire to find a guy with my mentioned strengths, then this is the part where you can stop reading, ignore the message I may have sent you and/or simply jog on. Because I'm not the guy you're looking for right now, and that's okay. Someday I might be though, who knows? Unfortunately, I'm not waiting for you to come around. I'm like waffles. Get me while I'm fresh and everyone else is asleep.
Can't believe I just compared myself to a tasty breakfast. I like Eggs Benedict more anyways. Moral of the story: breakfast in bed is great, right?
OKAY, now that the pleasantries for the common profile shoppers is out of the way, thanks for sticking around! Here's a little more about me.
I'm kind of a social pariah, in terms of where I fit in. I don't. I'm not really awkward about it though. Just very aware of it. I can have as much fun staying in as going out.
I may come to regret this, but this is my tumblr, where I post things I think are pretty cool: http://daiarashi.tumblr.com/
I love to travel. I've been to a lot of places in the world, and will go back, and of course to plenty more places. I appreciate someone that loves to travel.
I appreciate culture, in almost every form. Nature never ceases to amaze me and I'm pretty much in love with the sky. I love art, and am artistic myself, drawings, sketching, photography and even painting. Music is also a massive portion of my life. When I sleep, drive, shower, work, and play, music is almost always a part it. I've been slowly teaching myself guitar, though I admittedly haven't gotten to play lately. I like the rain, tea, overcast days, my cat, drawing, cooking, meditating...you know, good stuff.
I'm just working retail right now to keep up on my student loans because aerospace is still kind of trying to stand up again after the economic beating we took. That said, I'm still looking for work in what I have the degree in because I want nothing if not but to make a difference in this world.
I love intelligent conversation, and deep conversation even more. I'm spiritual, but not a new ager. I have an open mind, and am fascinated by the unknown, especially because I see it a lot in my life. I live by a set of ideals and stick to them.
I also love dressing well and eating well. It's not uncommon for me to wear a button up, tie, vest and sometimes slacks on a day when I just feel good. Don't get me wrong though, I'll go jeans/t-shirt plenty just as well.
The art form of music is amazing to me. I'll keep this brief, though rest assured, I have a longer list by far on my computer if you want to see it. I have an idea. I'm just going to post some current favorites on my youtube playlist!
Movies...hrm...I'm into action (Tron, Last Samurai, Book of Eli, Matrix, Chronicles of Riddick, etc), but I thoroughly appreciate a good drama, romance, or slice of life movie (American Beauty, Solaris, K-Pax, Hitch, Seven Pounds, etc). Comedy for me is pretty great too, but it's gotta be the right kind (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Zoolander, etc).
I love certain television shows, including Psyche, Fringe and admittedly Smallville. I also like a couple older shows such as X-files, Star Trek, and more than any other, Farscape (yes, I'm a geek, so sue me).
I also appreciate anime to some extent. I'm not obsessed like so many in that "zone" tend to be, but there are several I find inspiring in either creativity, artistic nature, plot, moral lesson, or a combination therein (FLCL, Samurai Champloo, Gurren Lagann, etc).
When it comes to food, I enjoy fresh, flavorful, healthy and fulfilling. I'm not a health nut, and I'm not big into the idea of no sugar, meat or carbs. But I tend to avoid pre-made anything, though I enjoy the occasional Good Times or Taco Bell/Del Taco hah. If I could I'd never eat or drink again, but because I can't really do that just yet, I love all manner of asian (japanese, korean, vietnamese, thai, chinese), mediterranean (greek, italian, moroccan), mexican, and many others. Long story short, I'm a total foodie.
increasingly polarized world of black and white. The future of our world. The technological theory known as the Singularity. How I factor into the world, and my ultimate purpose in this life. If me and my partner are ever going to find each other. I'm only here to find her though sheer willpower and determination. It is you? The list could go on and on, because the truth is, I've always got something going on in the back of my mind of some significance to me.
Otherwise, coming off of work normally warrants a pleasant evening at home. I went all suited up to a speakeasy recently that was very classy with tasteful drinks...and I loved it.
I'm a transhumanist. What that means is that I believe that humanity is headed in a direction of making technologies that artificially enhance the abilities of humans whether through robotics, cybernetics, genetics, or other tools. This could be everything from a simple contemporary machine like Google Glass to a near-future robotic replacement body that doesn't die. I believe there are a lot of moral and ethical implications to be worked out, but it's a future I believe is coming, and I'm a part of it.
But you should know: I am whole and complete, happy and balanced.
It's also a huge bonus if you're spiritual, intelligent, independent, cultured, artistic, romantic, and deep, and of course have a dorky sense of humor. I appreciate all that a lot, mainly because that's how I am as well.
BUT, if you just want a good guy friend, I'm just as up for that as much anything else.
