My Self-Summary
I grew up in Dallas and moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. I
studied abroad in Seville, Spain, and that experience developed my
passion for traveling. I am an English teacher at a local high
school, and I enjoy reading for pleasure as well as professional
development. Currently, I'm training for my first marathon, so I
spend much of my free time conditioning and getting ready for the
big race!
I’m really good at
adapting to new situations, writing creative non fiction, seeing
the good in people and being myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I smile a lot.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I enjoy reading fiction about the human condition, so books like
Perks of Being a Wallflower, 1984 or anything by Paulo
Coelho.
I am an avid fan of alternative rock (counting crows, collective soul, cake, etc.) but I also enjoy classic rock, top 40 pop, country and some rap. Anything that I can sing along to is just perfect... especially paul simon.
Trying new foods is a passion of mine, and I'm beginning to branch out in the kitchen (which is an adventure in its own right!). I most enjoy little hole in the wall restaurants because they have more flavor and character.
Movie choices depend upon my mood at the time, but some favorites would include Little Miss Sunshine, The Graduate, Harry Potter, Eulogy, and Se7en.

On a typical Friday night I am
at our high school basketball games or resting up for my long runs
on Saturdays.
