Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm part-Goth, part-geek and spend far too much of my time working
and/or thinking about work. I'm a sci-fi fan and love films/books,
although on a more 'girly' note I also like walking along the beach
(preferably not in daylight tho - sunshine hates me!) contemplating
our place in the universe.
If I were ever to have unlimited funds I would most likely surround
myself with gadgets - I love anything remotely techie, regardless
of its usefulness quotient. Trying to save money to go to
Antarctica on a survey trip, but having a daughter in University is
hampering that plan!
I'd like to be more practical in terms of building/repairing
things. Or even just have an ability to sew might be nice. I'll
always have a go, but usually am horribly embarassed by the result
and don't want anyone to see! Would also love to know why it is
that some people are just natural bakers? I couldn't make a cake if
my life depended upon it, although I can pretty much knock up
something savoury from the few limp leftovers in the bottom of the
fridge, so I guess I shouldn't complain really. Anyway, I don't
often eat cake!
I like the rain and spring/autumn days, but not when it's windy.
There's nothing more frustrating than sideways rain that sneaks up
on you and wheedles its way through the gaps in your clothing! I
think that there should be a natural law that states rain should
never be allowed to move horizontally!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
All sci-fi, action/adventure, comedy, drama, and anything to do
I'm a committed carnivore and love most types of food.
As for music, I'm into most music really, but currently listening
to Breaking Benjamin, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Muse,
Zeraphine and Oomph!.
Book choices vary depending on how I'm feeling, but currently
reading Doughnut by Tom Holt and Built to Last by Jim Collins.
Recently finished The Long Way by Terry Pratchett and Stephen
Baxter, the final book in the Burton & Swinburne steampunk
trilogy, The Red House by Mark Haddon, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of
Harold Fry, and Murakami's 1Q84. I often buy books just because I
love the cover, which means I read a lot of things I wouldn't
otherwise just because it had a pretty front!
Love theatre when I get the chance to go and have recently enjoyed
The Importance of Being Earnest at The Grand (with high tea too!)
during the Brighton Festival and managed to make it along to a
couple of Fringe events, which is a definite improvement on
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Collapsed in front of the tv with a large glass of wine after a
hard week of work, snuggled up with 'my boys' (both of whom are
tabby cats and typical toddlers!)
