My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"No matter where you go, there you are" deal with yourself first.

I love thunderstorms, they make me feel alive.

I want is something very light to start with, if a "long term relationship" happens then everyone wins. Let's be honest, that's how relationships work. Saying you're only looking for a long term relationship is like skipping to the end of a book and expecting to understand the story..

I was raised in a fairly old fashioned Southern family, so I open doors for everyone, say yes ma'am, and realize that on occasion a call people I barely know darlin'.

I spent a long time in food service, so I treat waiters and everyone else with respect. That may not have been a dream career, but it teaches humility, and that's a lesson some never learn.

I get noticeably excited when any infotainment show comes on. I guess that's a product of being raised on PBS? Car talk, star date, ask me another, make traffic almost enjoyable.

I'm a total sap romantic, I'm also a jaded modern individual. I cry at the end of Wall-e.. Like every time.

I dislike babies, not all of them, and not forever, just the first five months or so when they look like Benjamin Button.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am just now moving to a new company, one of the many awesome startups in Austin. I recently quit drinking (though I'm down to have a drink or two on special occasions) I'm trying to work on myself both personally and physically. I'd like to find someone to train with, and do all the interesting 5ks I hear about, with the end goal of being able to finish tough mudder or the spartan race.

All in all, trying to have a full happy life. If you're looking for a friend to push that rock up that hill with let me know.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Rational conversation, confusing people, making other people smile, logic puzzles, hugging (My hugs are requested by name, mostly because they pop your back too)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Err? Beard, glasses, boyish excitability, inability to sit still, far off gaze indicating I'm daydreaming?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books... I'll just go by author since I have a habit of finding an author I like and reading their work till I can't stand them anymore.
Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, Frank Herbert, George RR Martin, Neil Gaiman, Charles Stross (best far future scifi EVER), Neal Stephenson, Richard Dawkins, and anything else someone puts in front of me that catches my eye.

Comics: Bryan K. Vaughn, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis.

Movies: Blade Runner, Alien, Aliens, True Romance, The Professional, Usual suspects, Wall-e, What dreams may come, Predator, Total recall, Kung-Fu panda, How to train your dragon, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, no country for old men, True Grit (Jeff Bridges version), Princess Bride, Stardust (one of few movies that better than the book), Groundhog day, Zombieland, High Fidelity, Anchorman, Fifth Element, District 9, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Flight of the navigator, batteries not included, short circuit, Star Wars IV-VI (the others do not exist, don't try to convince me otherwise) wow ummm lots more but I think that will do for now.

Shows: Deadwood, Archer, Firefly, Game of Thrones, Harvey Birdman, Venture Brothers, Battle-fucking-star galactica. That's about it TV gets on my nerves really badly for the most part.

Music: Hmm I think I will try to list these in order of when I first liked them, and only list the ones I still like.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My Friends, my life has been ups and a whole lot of downs and they have been there every shit laden step of the way.

2. Food, I get to look forward to something three times a day!

3. My smartphone
a. I get lost really easily
b. who remembers phones numbers?
c. feel a sense of impending panic if I can't check my emails and in all other ways feel connected

4. Books. I go through stages where if I am not at work or asleep I am reading. I managed to finish all five books of the Game of Thrones series in less than a month.

5. Caffeine: coffee, tea, redbull Gimee! Seriously I think decaf coffee may be one of the dumbest things ever to be thought up, and as if thats not bad enough someone decided to make it! Not only that but people drink it! I've seen it!

6. Computers. Let's just admit it you couldn't either. You may not realize it but you couldn't.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I am an airhead... I could be thinking about the real life application of a sci-fi concept, or the perfect response to an argument I had yesterday. If you get to know me you will find out really fast that my train of thought wrecked a long time ago and flew apart in every single direction.

"Do ducks really sit? If so why?"

"Is this real or is it a game?"
"What is the difference?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I have no idea... I have been in the service industry so long I will have to relearn what Fridays are all about. Looking for something to do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have 11 fingernails... No seriously I do. There is a little tiny extra one under my left pinky nail. That's my mutant power... Pretty awesome.

I'm an looking to get to know someone with the intent of finding an actual connection, if that happens, great. If not, it's fun to meet like minded people.

If you want someone you can laugh at/with, want to have a drink with me and talk about anything in no particular order.

If you are looking for someone to do physical activity on the weekend, hike, bike, whatever. Let it be known, I'm a beginner.
