My self-summary
I'll just put some basics up here because I hate reading super long profiles, almost as much as I hate writing them :)

Originally from Chicago, been living in/around GR for a few years.

I'm looking for someone smart with a good sense of humor. I know it probably sounds a little sappy, I'd like to find "the one" pretty soon. Someone to live my life with & maybe start family with.

Speaking of family, most of my family is in/around the southern Chicagoland area, so I try to get down there as much as I can.

I like to cook, nothing super fancy though, although I have been known to take on a project here or there with mixed results
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from GRCC with a degree in recording technology, but decided that's not what I wanted to do, so for now I work as a dealer at a charity poker room & recently started working at a brewery. That'll hafta do until I can start my own thing. I also play for the Grand Rapids Griffins Drumline.

Currently renting a house with a room mate.
I’m really good at
Everything I do :) not trying to be cocky here, I just believe that if you're gonna do something, do it well. That being said, if there's something I'm bad at, I either don't do it, get better at it, or it's something trivial enough that it doesn't really matter :)

I rock some Tetris :)

Something I've never really been good at or able to improve on is that I'm a terrible dancer. I'm also pretty bad at starting conversations with people I really want to talk to.
The first things people usually notice about me
hair, beard, eyes, but not always in that order
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Fresh Perspectives for the Modern Drumline, Parking Lot Etudes: Psychogenic Discourse for the Flam Drag Fighter Pilot, The Vacant Lot Sessions, Not for the Faint of Heart, Violent Ice Cream, I am America (and so can you), just recently got into A song of Fire & Ice (yes because of the Game of Thrones series on HBO)

Movies: Blues Brothers, Waiting (Still Waiting was kinda disappointing though), Boondock Saints(s), Green Street Hooligans, Super Troopers, Star Wars(1-6), Saw(1-7), Spaceballs, Gremlins(1&2), Short Circuit(1&2), Underworld(s), 300, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Nightmare on Elm Street(s), Transformers (both the old cartoon one & the new ones), The Big Lebowsky, 21

TV Shows: Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, House, Dexter, Chicago Fire, Rescue Me, The Shield, Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, CSI(s), Defenders, Daily Show/Colbert

Music: Metal, Rock, Orchestral, Rap, pretty much everything
The Envy League, Metallica, Iron Maiden, The Minibosses, Symphony X, DragonForce, Blind Guardian, Dream Theater, Platypus, Fred green, Béla Bartók, Rebel Meets Rebel, Johnny Cash, Dethklok

Food: Italian (I love lasagna!), Pizza, Thai, hole-in-the-wall-burger/hot dog/mexican/gyro places (just not all from the same place)
The six things I could never do without
1 - Family/Friends
2 - Music
3 - Hockey - Hawks & Wings, Griffins, Hogs
4 - Food 'n such
5 - my iPhone
6 - DVR/Netflix (I have kinda become a netflix addict)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I still want kids, don't get me wrong, for the longest time I couldn't wait to have a kids, but now I just wonder if I'm getting to old to realistically want to have some of my own

why so many people have such a strong hatred of "text speak"

why so many people are so content with how stupid/dumb/ignorant they really are (this is mostly poker related but still kinda holds outside of that)

how OKC determines how far away someone is, I've seen a bunch of people on here from the same town with varying distances. I wonder if it actually knows where we all are, if that's the case, that's a little creepy, but it also means that I've got some hot neighbors :)

why, OKC shows me so many so called "matches" from Chicago, Wisconsin, and Ohio instead of around GR

if I use parenthesis and/or smilies/emoticons too much

if people have started using "clever" more often because of Doctor Who, or if that's just why I'm noticing it

why there's been a lot of profiles quoting the Piña Colada song lately
On a typical Friday night I am
not sure, I have fridays off with my new schedule, it's been a while since I regularly had a friday night available

It was at a Griffins game, not sure how I'm gonna spend my Fridays this summer tho, this will be my first summer in GR

possibly en route to Chi-Town or K-zoo
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't have my bed directly under a ceiling fan because I've always had this fear that its going to fall on me while I sleep

I can also be pretty awkwardly shy when meeting people
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 24–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if're looking for a someone to have some fun with, get to know & maybe build a lasting relationship with.'re looking for someone to drink beer & watch Doctor Who with're looking for someone to drink beer & watch hockey with're a good person, I'm sick of dealing with düshbags* (yes I spell düshbag with a "ü")

*after reading a bunch of profiles say that something similar, I wonder if anyone ever reads that & thinks, "that's too bad, I'm a pretty shitty person &/or a düshbag, guess I can't message her/him

...I already messaged you

...ya want to

...if I visited your profile a few times :) no, really, like I said above, for reason the more I want to start up a conversation, the harder for me it is sometimes, I just always feel like I'm saying the wrong thing, or something cliché
