My self-summary
Game of Thrones, Karl Pilkington and Alan Partridge make me happy.

Like a blue-eyed Jason Statham, minus the muscles, athleticism, fame, money, deep gravelly voice, aggressive alpha-male personality, chop-socky skills & attractive girlfriend. The eyes, however, are unfeasibly blue.

Mr Statham probably doesn't make puddings as well as I do either. Instead, I make friends with random cats and insects and move snails off footpaths so that they don't get squashed. Little things like that seem important to me. It takes strength to be gentle and kind ....

I'm not a huge fan of exercise for the sake of it (although I'm trying) but I love to snowboard and hike up mountains and do things that are active and fun. So far I have walked the Inca Trail and the levadas of Maderia, plodded up Kilimanjaro & Jebel Toubkal, and would love to get to Annapurna next. Weekends in Snowdonia are always my favourite part of the year. I've also completed paragliding and Accelerated FreeFall skydiving courses, but then I get distracted and want to try something else instead. Lots of things left to tick off.

Am trying to get into running lately, which is a struggle - but have four races (one daytime, one nighttime, and two assault courses / mud-runs) coming up in the next few months.

I'm charming, forgetful, empathetic, untidy, adventurous, self-conscious, articulate, helpful, and a whole bunch of other things ... good and bad. Not perfect by any means, but I donate blood, do voluntary work & try not to be a complete spazmoid. That counts.

According to OKC I am significantly less compassionate and kind than average? Pffft ... what a bunch of arse.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently working as a Big Yellow Taxi driver (paramedic) for the greater good, which is both the worst and best job in the entire world & probably a big part of who I am. The hours, money, general level of abuse and under-appreciation suck the big one, but it's a fundamentally worthwhile thing to do with your time. 90% shit, but the other 10% can't really be beaten and I can't think of anything else I would rather do. Mopping up vomit just does it for me. Mmm .... chunky.

It's not a job for everyone though and can be quite emotionally draining, so I like the rest of my time to be as drama free as possible. I don't like stress. The hours don't really help holding down a relationship either (that's my excuse anyway, which I am firmly sticking to ...), but it would be nice to have someone to come home to.
I’m really good at
I am great at:

- Procrastinating (the glorious art of faffing).
- Looking generally confused.

I am passably good at:

- Photography,
- Snowboarding,
- Surfing,
- Paragliding,
- Climbing

- I am also becoming a surprisingly good cook.

I royally suck at:

- Piano,
- Guitar. :(
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Listing things either seems like a good way of projecting / magnifying your own intellectual prowess or only ever meeting people who like exactly the same things you do. So with that in mind ...

MUSIC: I love music!!! There are generally good songs to be found in all genres of music if you look hard enough (and I do), but my heart belongs to rock & metal. Devin Townsend, Alice in Chains, Deftones & Faith No More are always at or near the top of my tree ... and the Prometheus soundtrack is currently playing while I noodle online.

That said, I *really* struggle with R&B / trance / house. Blah.

--------------------------------------------

MOVIES: The last film that made me laugh was Fortress 2 with the legendary Christopher Lambert, because it was so, so, ludicrously rubbish. Prometheus was beautiful. Flawed, but just sumptuous with it.

--------------------------------------------

BOOKS (last read): World War Z, Terry Jones' Barbarians, Essential Bushcraft (Ray Mears), The Subtle Knife (Phillip Pullman), The Watchmen (Alan Moore), Mad Bad & Dangerous To Know (Sir Ranulph Fiennes).

I grew up on comics (mainly 2000AD) and need to get back into my old favourites ...

--------------------------------------------

TV: Game of Thrones, I'm Alan Partridge, Mock The Week, Peep Show, TV Burp, Spaced, QI, An Idiot Abroad, anything with Sir Richard Attenborough or Ray Mears.
The six things I could never do without
1) A cup of tea (American tan / milk / 1 sugar).
2) Maybe a biscuit.
3) Music.
4) Some kind of adventure.
5) The promise of foreign travel.
6) Animals.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
EVERYTHING!! Analysis paralysis - and it absolutely drives me crackers.

Horrible, horrible habit. :S
On a typical Friday night I am
Quite possibly working. Which means I am either sweet-talking an old lady or someone is probably being sick on my boots. It's a joy and a pleasure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once peed in my own face on a very windy mountain. It was largely unintentional.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
- You find intelligence and abject silliness to be equally valuable.

- You think that spelling and punctuation are, whilst not of critical importance, not something to be afraid of either. Text speak is pure mental laziness and aggravates me no end (LOL!!!!).
