I am good enough, I'm smart enough, and people like me.

My Self-Summary

Um...........
I'm a recent college graduate who's currently employed as a full-time waiter at a local restaurant. I was born in raised in Texas but have always wanted to move out of state, preferably somewhere along the west coast. I am a compassionate and caring person, but I'm no pushover. I can be both understanding and stubborn at times. I come from a fairly stable family in which education and sympathy were the main values. As a result, I have a very sharp mind but a warm heart. My number one commodity is probably my ever-present sense of humor, useful in even the darkest of times. I am interested in many, many things but my hobbies include guitar, any and all water activities, the occasional working out, drawing, going out with friends, staying in and watching movies (documentaries and comedies, mostly), philosophy, playing pool, and enjoying nature. I'm hoping to use this site as a means of meeting new interesting people for friendship and possibly something more intimate. To find out more, drop me a line.

What I’m doing with my life

Well, having just recently graduated college, I'm naturally looking for a more professional job/career. However, as you know I couldn't have picked a worse time to graduate and start a career search. Therefore, in the meantime I continue to work as a full-time waiter Monday through Friday at a reputable steak house in the area. Other than that, I frequently go out to the local bars/clubs, play trivia (and often win) most Mondays and Thursdays, play music with friends, workout, play disc golf, and recently joined a bowling league with some of my friends (though I'm not very good).

I’m really good at

I've been playing the guitar now for over 12 years and it is undoubtedly my most reputable talent. I play mostly funk, rock and folk, but my focus is the blues (mostly older, acoustic and slide blues guitar). In addition to the guitar, I also play drums, the saxophone, the harmonica and bass guitar. I don't know if I would call it a talent, but I have a reputation for having great music taste. However, it comes the price of me being one of the hugest music snobs ever (one of my biggest faults). Outside of music, I enjoy drawing and cartooning especially. Also, if I may say so, I'm a pretty good cook, especially of Italian and Cajun foods. I'm a good swimmer and absolutely love being in the water (preferably an ocean). Finally, I am pretty crazy about trivia and get very competitive about it (from Jeopardy! to Trivial Pursuit). To find out what else I'm good at, drop me a line!

The first things people usually notice about me

My blue eyes, my voice (which is supposedly very soothing, weird I know), my dry sardonic sense of humor (which at times can come off as rude but I most all of the time am only joking), my intelligence, my passion for music, my laughter, my smile, my ability to make other people laugh.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music: I could talk incessantly about my favorite music for days!! When I say I listen to everything, I mean EVERYTHING! Still, if I had to pick one genre of music, I would probably have to go with Blues and Jazz from the 1920s and 30s (I know, kind of odd for a 20-something male). If we end up seeing each other, I guarantee there will be plenty of time and opportunities for me to show you what I got and like.

Books: The Brothers Karamazov, multiple C.S. Lewis books, many many philosophy books (my intellectual hobby of choice), People's History of the U.S.A., and sooo many more I won't list them.

Movies: Lots; mostly documentaries, comedies, horror, exploitation, indie and foreign movies.

Food: not picky AT ALL! Love food, love to cook it, love to eat it! Always down to try something new.

The six things I could never do without

My family
My faith (that there's someTHING to have faith in)
My friends
My sense of humor
My music
My wits

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The future, the past, God, morality, love, sex, epistemology, existentialism, metaphysics and bills.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either playing and/or recording music with friends and/or going out and having a few drinks with the friends (maybe soon having a few with you).

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I really don't have too many secrets, the few I do have, I wouldn't put down here. I guess the most private thing I'm now willing to share would be my extreme media-superiority complex (but I'm not so closed-minded that I can't be interested/enjoy what other people have to show me).

You should message me if

You are interested in friendship, going out to get something to eat or drink (coffee or something more intoxicating), having a date, dating (casual, sexual or serious), or just plain interested. Like I said, I simply want to meet some new people, so I'm down for just about anything!
