I am extroverted, introverted, and geekish.
My Self-Summary
I can accomplish 'most' of what I imagine and, that's fine.
I am a father and grandfather. I participate in my children's lives
and, they in mine.
I've been janitor and engineer, geek and artist.
I've been husband and, Mr. Mom.
My relationships have all been long.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a photographer and consultant.
When I can make a bride cry after her wedding, it's a good thing,
really. That tells me I'm doing it right.
I work often with various 'biker' communities across Southern
California. The outreach they perform fits my model of human
kindness in action. Pay it forward if you can.
I'm just as likely to be the IT guy as the community photographer.
I’m really good at
Evaluating anything. except this statement.
communicating across cultural divides.
explaining discoveries and processes.

The first things people usually notice about me
My appearance, then, my hats.
edit: It seems that little else is first. It takes time.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Science and science fiction. Bradbury, Asimov and, Hawking.
SciFi and action films, Love stories and horror movies. Blade
Runner put all of it together.
Reggae and blues music, Rap and industrial dance. Late 60s acid to
current pop. Ballads can make me cry.
Yes, food. Aside from Kimshe.
I will read anywhere, but my favorite location is close to the
beach. Anything within feet to yards from the water and
waves.
The only rooms in my home without books are the kitchen and, my
office.
I read REDDIT's front page in my office constantly (about a year
now). For news, the community of redditors seem to be a day or so
ahead of anyone else, for social and science information, they
expose me to much more than I would find in my not so random
internet surfing.
When driving, audio books and podcasts might be filling my head as
likely as as NPR, the CBC or music from KCRW.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The conflict between rational and irrational ideals.
On a typical Friday night I am
Stargazing.
When free time comes along (way too often), I will be doing
sidewalk astronomy until the wee hours, sharing the sky, my paltry
cosmic knowledge and, friendships bound by the wonder of it
all.
You cannot imagine the rush one gets just being there when someone
exclaims out loud at their personal first look at the
planets.
Edit: many of my +80% OKC matches are teaching, so my new position
has to be that you do understand the 'rush', else, why teach.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm afraid of June bugs. I have anecdotal evidence that they know
my fear.
You should message me if
You want conversations that might go beyond the weather and
sports.
No sports awareness at all.
I have to create an edit here. I am asked each time I'm visited,
while stargazing, "how often are you doing this?". My answer, "When
it's clear", which sadly, it's not often so, on the coast.
Therefore, I do believe, I 'might' be obsessed by the weather. I
won't mention it if it offends you, unless it is clear.
But, if you want to take things somewhere else, I can hold my own
on current events, global politics, national politics, prop 8,
2012, bigotry, bias, woodworking, sewing, baking, parenting,
physics, programming and, more.
So little is black or white. You should message me if there is no
'One' answer. Or, if there is, I would like to know it.
When I don't know, I will ask. If I feel I can still contribute, I
will guess and say so.
If an attentive partner, who desires that you be true to yourself,
is who you would like to share time with then, press that
button.
If, during the bicycle ride, a willingness to stop and watch a
pelican soar, is more important than getting there NOW, then
certainly, press the button.
If you can hold hands in public, cuddle in public, you should ...
