I am cute, liberal, and left-handed.
My Self-Summary
I'm educated, down-to-earth, independent, opinionated, passionate,
and somewhat cynical. My friends describe me as cute (a term I've
begrudgingly accepted), spunky, scrappy, and fun. Politically, I'm
extremely leftist, and I'll admit that I am quick to judge those
who don't share my commitment to equality and social justice. I'm
somewhere between agnostic and atheist and have little patience for
those who have a strong religion. (Sorry, just being honest.) I'm
generally comfortable and chatty in most social situations -
although I do get sick of making small talk and quickly long to
have close friends around, and therefore I think all good
relationships start with good friendships. One of my favorite
things is relaxing with friends and rousing conversation (obviously
including how we can rebuild the world after everything the GOP has
done to screw it up) over a good beer or cup of coffee. I also love
music and laughter - two things I can't live without! Other loves?
The Red Sox, musical theater, Cape Cod, Italy, skiing, hiking,
thunderstorms, curling up with a good book/movie/crossword
puzzle/latest issues of The Nation, laughing uncontrollably.
Dislikes? Apathy, being the only single person in a room full of
happy couples, being late, traffic (have you guessed yet that I'm
extremely impatient?), re-runs, balancing my checkbook, radical
pro-lifers.
What I’m doing with my life
Social worker by training, now I do fundraising for a non-profit
political organization. I guess I'm what you would call a "joiner"
- I'm very involved in a bunch of different organizations, causes,
etc.
I’m really good at
Singing, laughing, drinking, skiing, conversations, jigsaw puzzles.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height - although I wish they wouldn't. I'm 5 feet tall. And
once you start talking to me you'll find out pretty quickly that
I'm an uber-progressive. :)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: The Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, The Handmaid's
Tale, 1984
Movies/TV: Life is Beautiful, America Beauty, anything with Adam
Sandler, The Wizard of Oz, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Lost,
24
Food: Italian, Mexican, dessert
The six things I could never do without
-Coffee
-Music
-Laughter
-The Red Sox
-My reproductive freedom
-Coffee
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to take down the Republican party once and for all and how I
can raise the money to do it, how to end gender and class
discrimination, expensive vacations I can't afford.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at happy hour with friends, usually at some small,
laid-back bar. (think Tonic, Toledo, etc.) I'm up for fancier
places occasionally...to me it's more about the crowd than the
location.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am the most impatient person I know.
You should message me if
You're not afraid to stand up for someone who's being treated
unfairly;
You know how to make people laugh;
You are just as comfortable at a baseball game as you are at the
symphony;
You have contemplated the idea of dropping everything and moving to
the other side of the world;
You enjoy good beer and better conversation;
You're a little bit dorky and aren't afraid to show it;
You have friends who mean the world to you;
You think George W. Bush might be the devil incarnate;
You're not intimidated by independent women with strong
opinions;
You aren't afraid to call the next day if you want to talk to her
again.
