Self-characterization can be dangerous from both sides, but here goes anyway. I am an old-fashioned liberal with all of the willingness to tolerate almost anything that the term means. If I can find the backers, then I will run for political office as a Jeffersonian Democrat.

I am a consulting philosopher; I write fiction, and I blog. I probably do a few other things of some note, but they don't come immediately to mind, and I reeally don't want to reveal myself in something like this; although I might in person.

I recently started trying to write poetry in addition to the excellent prose that I write. I may try to put some poems to music as well, but that would require that I learn to use a musical instrument.

Well, Thallia, the Muse, does music in addition to words, so it should be possible.

I write excellent stories, stories with good plots, good characters, and so on. I just went through a story I wrote a few years ago, and I was amazed at how good and funny it is.

I have been told that I am a good conversationalist, but I make no such claim, because I have never had a conversation with myself.

I am fairly good at a whole lot of things from blacksmithery to walking to carving. In fact, I am fairly good at most things that I do, but I am really good at sharpening knives and other blades. If you have dull knives, then let me know.

I still don't now, but recently random people have seemed very friendly when they meet me, smiles that look warm, etc.. It has me a little worried.

I have read many books, and I enjoyed most of them. The Ship that Sailed the Time Stream by G.C. Edmondson was the best novel of the 20th century.

I an not generally into movies, because they are too simple, but there have been a few exceptions.

I am not a music fan per se, but I love good lyric poetry and some harmonic music. I don't not like raucous noise. I am listening to "Surrealist Pillow" by the Jefferson Airplane, and it is excellent. And Joni Mitchell wrote and delivered some of the best poetry in the English language.

Food is good, and I like it.

I regularly think about the fact that all actions in the universe are predetermined. The laws of physics and logic require that there be causes for effects, and the chain of cause and effect stretch back to the Big Bang, and we can't notice the fact that our decisions were determined more than 13 billion years ago.

Even knowing that, I keep going in the hope that I will have a happy and fulfilled life.

As a consulting philosopher, that is one thing that I teach my clients.

Treating the time the same as I would any other day. I am egalitaian about time, and wishing that I was with you.
