Super Nerd/Feminist/Wallflower

Now accepting applications for someone with whom to hold hands, cuddle up on the couch and watch too much netflix, experiment with new dishes, go on the occasional nature walk (with plenty of zyrtec), grump about stuff worth grumping over (I'm looking at you, patriarchy), and hog all the blankets when it gets randomly cold and snows in April.

Inquire within (my heart).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
These days, I'm an aspiring writer and proponent of social justice. Because of my tastes and my lifestyle, I mostly approach social justice within the realm of the internet and online gaming.

I work with clients at a 24 hour veterinary hospital. I love the job, but I don't define myself by it. On my nights off, I like to get together with friends and play board games, go to trivia nights, or go to live shows. I am pretty introverted by nature, so it's not unusual for me to prefer a night in. In that time, I tend to play video games, watch Netflix, and poke my cat until he gets irritated and latches onto my arm.

I've also become hopelessly addicted to imgur...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Writing

- Eating

- Pretending I'm in a music video when listening to music I like

- Getting excited about new episodes of Doctor Who

- Pretending that I know what I'm talking about

- I've been told I'm a good singer, but my crippling social awkwardness means I'm usually the only one to hear it.

- Spending half an hour writing and rewriting a message to someone I think is interesting, then bailing after I finally assume my message would get lost in a sea of gross messages from the assholes of OkC... or possibly a sea of more interesting messages from people who are way less socially anxious than I am.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Definitely my ears. I have 5/8" gauges. Past that, I've heard that I smile with my eyes, which I think means I squint a lot.

Books: Anything by Steve Alten, most Steven King, Fahrenheit 451, Ender's Game, the Song of Ice and Fire series.

Movies: Looper, 12 Monkeys, The Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, The Nines, Batman, Big Fish, Drive, anything Monty Python, Reservoir Dogs, Terminator 2, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, recent DC animated features, anything H.P. Food: I'm vegetarian, and a terrible one at that. You can't go wrong with pizza. I'll try anything, more or less.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Games
- Food
- A creative outlet
- Geeking out
- My cat, Rory Williams
- Singing along to my tunes (preferably in the shower)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why nerd culture is so hostile toward everyone but straight white cis-guys.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my writing. I want to achieve something with it. The ultimate goal is to write a book, but I'm having a hard time getting past planning stages.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If it's a pay week, I'm out with coworkers. After a day at work, though, I'm usually more interested in relaxing. I recently switched to morning shifts, so having availability on weekends is overwhelming me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've trained my cat to stand up and give me a kiss before I give him his meals.
