My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I believe that true love should be based on a solid foundation of approximately equal portions passion, snark, and homemade locally-sourced bacon cheeseburgers.

Myers-Briggs INTJ (if you're into that sort of thing). Opinionated, creative, wacky, curious. Looking for a companion along the journey, literally and otherwise. My approach to life, love, sex (and spirituality) might best be described as "earthy".

I am very picky, but I fall hard. If I bother to message you, it's because I think there's serious potential.

My favorite season is winter, and I'm never more energized than when it's 30 below and there's 3 feet of snow on the ground. Hence the screenname.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living in a 144-year-old house in Plymouth with my 6 year old son and nine cranky hens. Spending a lot of time in coffee shops with my computer. Growing a lot of vegetables in the back yard. Trying to go solar. Working on a script for a musical. Getting out into the woods when possible (preferably on horseback).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
analyzing, thinking aloud, making it up as I go along, getting a workout while getting around, tree pose, and making pie.

I'm really bad at: lying. World's worst liar. Seriously.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Blonde hair; look younger than I am; no-nonsense; low voice for a woman
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books that have shaped me at a fundamental level: Dorothy L. Sayers' "Gaudy Night," the Divine Comedy, Sigrid Undset's "Kristin Lavransdatter", the Narnia Chronicles. Music: folk-rock, classical, and classic folk-rock. (OK, OK, and Broadway musicals. I love both "Chess" and "The Secret Garden". I contain multitudes.) Food: I'm a loca-omnivore, just don't try to feed me sushi. Oh, and while we're on the subject of food, if you're looking for a woman who can eat you under the table and belongs to that tiny minority of American females with no noticeable food or body issues, you've found your gal. I have a wicked sweet tooth and particularly enjoy the sensation of chugging cold milk and feeling it spread down the inside of my throat. And yet, I weigh 135 at 5'4". I guess I just have the world's most inefficient metabolism.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My smartphone, high-quality milk chocolate, Chapstick, my pellet stove, my bicycle, and the Book of Common Prayer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Compost, interpersonal dynamics, and the meaning of life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
rocking the single-parent thing: on the couch with my laptop, chatting with my invisible friends in the computer, and/or watching BBC costume dramas on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The longer I'm single the more I hate sleeping alone. I have been known to cuddle my kid's 3' tall stuffed snowman as a substitute.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you're brainy, a little crunchy, emotionally available, comfortable in your own skin, and like to talk about anything and everything.

DISCLAIMER: I'm one of those annoying people who has a "type". If that makes me shallow, so be it - at this stage in my life, I don't have time for zillions of first dates with people I'm not going to have any chemistry with. You have a much, MUCH better chance of meeting me in person if you are: 6' or taller, describable as "lean" or "rangy" (I find big muscles a turn-off - yeah, I'm weird) and have a narrow face with a big nose. Bonus points for the combo of dark hair and light eyes. I don't go for movie-star looks - it's entirely possible that you may think you're average or weird looking and I will find you gorgeous. And there are plenty of people out there who are plenty attractive to others, but to whom I'm going to say "thanks, but no thanks" because you just don't push my buttons and I'm not going to settle for less.

FURTHER DISCLAIMER: If you message me and want me to reply, you will need to (a) write a message that is longer than one sentence, and (b) demonstrate that you have a sense of humor and can spell.
