My Self-Summary

I'm a software developer, and spend waaay too much time at the keyboard. I try to take breaks to go hiking in the hills, and for some reason I really enjoy silent movies. I'm divorced, and my kids are grown. I guess I'm starting Chapter Two (Three? Four?) of my life....

What I’m doing with my life

I'm into home improvement mode right now. Just painted the living room, and I'll be replacing a couple of windows as soon as they arrive. The list of Things To Do never seems to get shorter, though.

I'm pretty tall, and that tends to get noticed.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: "Godel, Escher, Bach"; "Longitude"; "The Mote in God's Eye".

Movies: Nothing much recent, I'm working my way through the classics on Netflix. And I'm a paid-up member of the [Buster Keaton] fan club.

Music: Straight-ahead jazz, especially piano and organ. I still listen to a lot of classical, too. Chopin's my favorite, and Bach, of course.

The six things I could never do without
