I am the eternal student, both in a literal sense for the moment and more realistically in a metaphysical. Learning more about the world at large is my passion, has always been, and probably will always be. I'm currently studying to be a veterinary student (Unfortunately, OKCupid doesn't list that, of course!) and when I get that degree in a couple years the world opens up to be seen. And I really want to see it.

I am passionate, sometimes maybe more than I should be, but when I believe in something I know to be true I will fight for it. I'm not unchanging, though, and if something new comes to light I won't just push it aside for the sake of being right. In debates I can be pretty intense but at the end of the day I respect the rights of others to have their opinions.

I feel like life is out there and we all just need to take a hold of it and live for all we've got.

I'm at the half-way mark for getting my veterinary degree at the moment. Once that's out of the way there are a lot of options open to me, and honestly it really depends on how things work out. I could be in for four more years or I could be done next year, it's all down to those funky numbers on my transcript.

Outside of school I'm a former varsity athlete and I spend some of my free time trying to pay back the school that taught me the sport I love (fencing) in kind by helping out people just getting started. It's very fun and I'm finding out that I very much enjoy coaching others like that!

I'm good at being supportive and caring for other people. I don't like people in my company feeling left out or down and I try my best to help make people's day a little better.

Probably my height and build. Also possibly the epee, if I'm carrying one. It tends to stand out.

Books: Anything that makes me laugh or makes me think! Lately I've been reading a lot of Terry Pratchett's Discworld and Seanan McGuire's Toby series. I'm also a bit of a Chinese history buff, so every now and again I'll pick up something off-the-cuff like Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Movies: I love comedies, and for some reason I find Jackie Chan's movies utterly endearing. I'm pretty open to most types though, just not horror movies (I'm a wuss that way.)

TV: I don't actually get cable so I don't really have too many TV shows I watch... For the longest time I was addicted to Mythbusters, Deep Space 9 and Battlestar Galactica (space dramas!) but two of those shows are over and thus far nothing's quite worked its way into my heart like them. Penn & Teller's various TV shows have been interesting to follow, too, even if I take issue with a lot of the things they say.

Music: I loooooove trashy pop. It's a vice. I'll enjoy classical, rock, metal, even country if it's got a solid beat to it, but I really do love terrible pop music. Especially from the 80's. Blondie & Madonna are both awesome.

Food: Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Caribbean... If it's spicy, I'll love it for the most part. Or even if it's not, really. I'm not too picky about food!

A lot of different stuff. I'm definitely ADD in that I'll follow the first thought that pops into my head down in strange places... then forget it entirely. If I'm feeling serious, though, politics sticks in my craw a lot of the time... I don't agree with a lot of things that are happening in this country of late.

It really depends! I might stay home and curl up with a good book, or I might be out with some good friends, at someone's house or at a club! I tend to do things pretty spontaneously and I often don't even know what I'm gonna do till something happens.

I wear my heart on my sleeve and it's very easy to tell how I feel about something. If I'm happy I can be almost sickeningly bubbly, even!
