For some strange reason you seem to have come here seeking information about me. I question your judgement but I'll do all I can to fulfill your desire.

My name is Sam, and I am first and foremost a geek. I play with computers and tend to know what I'm doing, I like stories with spaceships in them and I probably know more than is healthy about various mythical creatures.

Luckily, my talents are not limited to knowing the top speed of an AT-ST. I excel at making things, from treehouses to cakes, and many things in between.

I originate from New Zealand, but call England home at the moment for whatever reason. I currently work as a chef, but it's not the career I want, I really enjoy cooking for myself and friends, and turning it into a job seems like a fast way to ruin a good interest.

I plan to study to become a navigational officer for shipping, and I'll admit at least part of my interest in the field is that I look good in uniform.

Listening. People often think I'm quiet because I tend to let them talk too much.

My height, almost exclusively. It's probably the reason I never got beaten up at school.

I am a fan of various sci fi and fantasy franchises, including but not limited to Star Wars, Firefly, D&D, The Sword of Truth (not the awful Legend of the Seeker TV adaption...ugh) and Star Trek.

I enjoy the works of CS Forrester and Patrick O'Brian, and am a fan of work set in the 1700s-early 1800s.

Other books I like, written down at random: Dracula, Great Expectations, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Treasure Island.

The Internet. Truly I believe it to be one of the most important achievements in human history. Nothing can compare to the freedom it grants people to access knowledge and better themselves.

Cold, clean drinking water. It probably makes up 95% of what I drink. Not a health thing or anything, I just really enjoy it.

Music. There is nothing quite like the emotional response that simply hearing a series of notes can provoke. It's fascinating.

Books. Some people feel the need to get excited when their chosen sports team is winning a game. I feel that way when I read a good book and the protagonist is close to their goal.

Good food. Of all the things one can spend money on, good food provides the most immediate, most tactile reward. Sure, a fancy car might be fun to drive and nice to look at, but chocolate can make you feel really good right now.

Comedy. Be it making people laugh, or being made to laugh by other people, life would be pretty empty without this.

At home, being as social as I can be on the internet, because most of my friends are either in other countries, other cities, or have lives where they work as many hours as I do...
