My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So I have a tendency to write a lot, but I'll try to keep this novel to a minimum. But I don't make any promises!

Originally from Virginia Beach, but went to school for physics over at Radford, then somehow found myself working odd jobs up in Alaska and over in the Solomon Islands before going to New York for more school in more physics. I got a job offer back down here in Hampton working as a Medical Physicist, which is way more fun than it sounds. And conveniently, I think it's pretty fun. It's a lot of figuring random stuff out.

So I think that pretty much applies to everything; I just like to try to figure stuff out. If it's broke, I'll try to fix it. Or at least break it until I'm *sure* it can't be fixed. Either or. I just try and make sure more things fall into that first category than the second. So one day, you might find me under a car thinking that I know how to replace an exhaust (Successful!) or sitting at a desk trying to solder a Playstation back together (Less successful.)

A million years ago back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, a friend of mine brought over a guitar and once again the same principle applied. I wanted to figure out everything about how it it works and how to play music, which is a fairly significant part of my life. I hate that cliche'd "I like all music", but I'm going to go ahead and say it. I like all music. But I really love playing it. Hardly a day goes by where I won't get at least an hour of guitar or piano in.

One last sidenote; one of those pictures up there is a picture of when I used to be a fire performer down on the Oceanfront. Seriously, I saw it on Youtube and thought 'Pfft, I could do that!'. Turns out, I could! I have a *lot* of weird hobbies from just wanting to learn to do things.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm pretty good at pretending to look busy at work.

But outside of that; I love to play music, I love the beach, and I love to travel. I'm also a big fan of *anything* with a good story! I have a bookcase stacked with random books that's getting a little bit overcrowded (Currently reading; classical Peter Pan!), a stack of movies and TV shows that are amazing (Joss Whedon for President), and a stack of video games that I'll never get around to finishing (The Last of Us? Best. Story. Ever. Currently finishing 999 on the DS!).

Outside of the outside of that above; I'm taking the next part of my Medical Board exams next fall. So I *need* to be cracking open a medical text or two, but that's still a year from now. Future-Me's problem.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Playing music. Being a good friend. Sharing loot. Surfing. Conversation. Travelling. Buying fancy beer and pretending I know what I'm talking about.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is such a weird question. Who asks people what they first noticed about them? I'd ask someone; but no one is awake and my dog isn't giving me any straight answers.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books; All of them! I go through a book every two weeks or so. Less if it's incredibly good, more if it's for work or something. Current favorite- Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz. Funniest thing I've read.

Movies; Again, all of them. I don't watch a lot but some favorite include the Avengers, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and The Royal Tenenbaums. Recently I watched Warm Bodies preparing to make fun of it, and I actually ended up liking it far more than I should probably admit.

Shows; Angel (Ended too soon!), Firefly (Seriously ended too soon!), Dexter (Didn't end soon enough.), Breaking Bad (No complaints. Pretty perfect ending there.). But I'll really watch almost anything, but I don't have cable. So normally I'll wait until I hear good stuff about shows and then I'll definitely not download them online. Because that's bad. Or something.

Music; All of it (Noticing a pattern yet?). I'll admit I'm not a big country fan. Nothing against it, I just find the lyrics and chords a little repetitive. Currently in my car right now? Thrice, Rise Against, Silversun Pickups, etc. But I'll always listen to anyone. Got any good recommendations?

Food; Again, seriously, all of it. There's a *really* good Thai food place down the street, and I've been there so much they invited me to the cook's birthday. I'm still not sure if that's a good thing or not.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My guitar
Friends
Family (Most days)
Sense of adventure
A good book
The beach
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I forgot to do during the day. What I've procrastinated doing during the day. How if I stopped sitting here thinking about it and started doing it I'd have been done with it all by now. How much more comfortable this sofa is then doing the aforementioned things. How Netflix is like RIGHT THERE! How I'll still have time to do those things after just one more show.

Seriously, I'm amazed anything gets done.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sitting around a campfire with some friends, playing music with people, catching up on terrible television shows, spending too much money on beer I can't pronounce, playing some games with some fun people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That if I'm in a car with the windows down, I will sing loud and out of key. All the time, everytime.
