My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello there, I'm jon.

Thanks for visiting my profile.

Let's see, I greatly appreciate anything in this world that makes me smile, laugh or feel something genuine.

I'm responsible and career minded.

I'm young at heart and I like women with both strong opinions and a strong sense of self.

Someone who can appreciate a good laugh.

Someone keen on living a life a bit more interesting whenever possible.

Someone who places empathy and kindness pretty much above everything.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been a successful creative director in advertising for many fun filled years.

Recently, I've opened up my own creative shop in sunny Oakland with the intention of being a part of the exciting rebirth of this great and often overshadowed city.

Co-parenting my two boys with my ex, whom I get on with greatly.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being comfortable in my own skin.

Making people around me feel relaxed and comfortable in theirs.

Causing you to laugh at moments when you probably shouldn't be.

Looking at things from multiple perspectives.

My job.

This great trick I can consistently do with a baseball cap.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to smile a lot.

I also tend not to take myself too seriously, and I'm drawn to people, places and things that do the same.

A serious conversation can be an amazing thing, but if I were going to drop dead at a given moment, I'd much rather have it happen during a good solid laugh rather than a heavy conversation about global warming.

Laughing is really fun. Fun wins.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books. Love non fiction and history. Currently reading Hemmingway's Old Man and the Sea. I'm not ashamed to admit that I've been dyslexic for my entire life, so reading, as much as I enjoy it, has always been a bit of an arduous process.

Movies. Documentaries up the wazoo. Coen brothers anything, Wes Anderson some, any epic period peice. American Beauty, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, To Kill a Mockingbird,

Shows. Daily Show. Fallon. SNL, John Oliver, Broad City, Vikings, Walking Dead. Drunk History

I love live music. I grew up a going to punk shows in NYC in the early 80's (such great times), but my love and appreciation for music is broad. My collection is cumbersome. All kinds of rock to old 70's reggae and rocksteady to drum and bass to country to pop. It's all good (Well, almost all. ha). Taking in live music and supporting people who play it has always been super important to me.

I've collected and played ukuleles for about 15 years now. It makes me (and sometimes others) super happy. It's like wooden prozac.

I don't play anything Hawaiian, just some old punk ditties, Bowie, reggae classics and 70's 80's and 90's pop.

Food is so good right?!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Positivity.
2. Quality bedding.
3. My iPhone
4. Kindness.
5. music.
6. my boys.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Staying in the moment. Or should I say, trying to stay in the moment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either with my boys explaining to them why we can't watch the bulk of the movies they want to watch, or maybe on a fun date with you. Depends on the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm terrified of splinters. That's right, I'm splinterphobic... There, I said it... It's a curse....
