My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
It is no to easy to summarize oneself... I am well educated, well traveled, and well read. If I were a dish, I suppose I would be well done.

I'm not living permanently in the Bay Area, but rather traveling there frequently on business.

I'm sort of in between careers, having abandoned what I hated doing for the past ten years, only to start something I'm sure I will hate for the next ten years... And yes, I'm actually an upbeat and generally positive person; but sometimes during the endless days on the road and in the conforming, sterile and depressingly empty hotel rooms this other me comes out.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working hard at work; working even harder on what's next in my life - finding that missing passion and joie de vivre that the Europeans are so famous for. No wonder they're bankrupt - they enjoy life way too much! And when I'm not contemplating how to become a Greek citizen, I do enjoy reading, writing, cooking ... I wonder if my tzatziki would qualify me for citizenship?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Catching falling objects. Cooking "Chopped" style.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My accent, if I speak. How quiet I am, if I don't.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Love crime and mystery novels, Dan Brown, Grisham, DeMille...

Movies that entertain...if I want to think, I'd rather read. I admit I just flamed out on the "deepness" factor. Sorry Fellini, I just prefer Bruckenheimer.

I am not a sitcom fan. I sometimes like certain dramas, most of which are no longer showing...I guess that puts me squarely outside the mainstream as far as my TV preferences go, being fond of those shows that get canceled after (and sometimes before) the end of Season 1?

Food...ethnic, savory, spicy... It's all about the ingredients. I prefer to let them cook themselves, and I just watch and enjoy a glass of wine.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The morning shower, the first cup of coffee, a kitchen, a library, the second, third and fourth cup of coffee, and red wine.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to cook a salmon dish that pairs well with a full bodied Cab, or perhaps a spicy Syrah. Mushrooms will be key, perhaps shiitake, and with a Dijon mustard rub. Something to kick up the savory component. Ideas are indeed welcome. Be advised, they will be tested and either praised or viciously criticized, depending on outcome.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working out, and then cooking. Uncorking a Bordeaux blend. Enjoying the moment. Unless I'm at the airport, having a beer, waiting for the perpetually delayed flight home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm comprised primarily of water.
