I was raised in the south, in a rural setting in a land I developed a love and hate regard toward with its trailer parks and Holy Roller churches and elegant, squirming woods and dark creeks. I escaped, moved around and eventually moved here but I surrendered my post in a moment of rabid curiosity about California and the south reclaimed me like an octopus. I've been back in this city I love for several years and I'm not budging.
I'm an artist--a painter, sculptor and tattoo artist--and I write theoretical works, philosophy most would call it.
I also own and run my small company making boutique art
There's more, much more of course but I'll leave it at that.
It would help if you're not religious. I'm an atheist by disposition, an agnostic by reason and a mystic by heart.
We'd also be more likely to get along if your political and social leanings are left. I'm serious about mine and took thumps on the head and teargassing for them during my more politically involved days. I come from a line of union activists and it's one of the things I respect most about my relatively inglorious, hillbilly history.
