You don't need to read all this, its probably more bloggy than useful.
I'm very smart and in person I will certainly make you laugh (some people I make pee, so if you have a weak bladder and embarrass easily it can be a rough ride).
I'm not as cynical as my/our generation is known to be. I believe in purpose, but I'll grant it's a tricky question.
Son of Portuguese parents. I grew into myself in Virginia Beach. Old Dominion University grad (French Undergrad and Masters in Public Administration)
I play sports casually and exercise fairly regularly. ODU games generally feature me screaming obscenities at the opposition's bench. I'm not an asshole, its simply supporting our team. (I actually haven't done that since college, I am a mature adult mostly)
There is nothing more fascinating than existence (possibly due to the necessity of its pre-eminence);
You can re-read that if you want. If its still tough, I'm just saying existence is all that we have, and that fascinates me.
This experience of being a conscious participant in the universe is hard to grasp and hard to ignore. That's not fanciful, pretentious or naive. You're being dismissive if you ignore the wonder by reducing it right off.
I am captivated by science, philosophy, and religion.
If you're too smart for religion you may have a myopic view of it. I'm not speaking of children's stories nor am I terribly concerned about bedroom morals.
It's unclear to me what people would care to know.
Politics are important to me because I like to know the structure of my bondage. That's overly dramatic, but the fact is this world was here before I was and I wasn't involved in the social structure that humans created prior to my birth.
The supreme court gave an absurd ruling on Obamacare, but I'm glad they did. I don't think Obamacare is going to solve our healthcare woes but its a tiny step.
I'll go for a run or a bike ride. I'll drink a beer and eat oysters on the bay. I 'll converse about literature, film, politics, philosophy, justice, sports, your tough day, and your crazy co-workers.
I'll get a couple bottles of wine and grill pork chops. I'm generally a good guy- I don't want anything that I don't believe I earned and I believe in the value of the individual often times over the good of the community.
