I am kind, witty, and quick to laugh.
My Self-Summary
My name is Brian. I was born and raised in NYC. So most other
cities I've been to, as great as some are, haven't really measured
up. I can't see myself living in another city right now, but the
irony of a city with so many people is that its hard to meet one
you like. So here I am, seeing whats out there. I'm not looking for
anything specific. But I am looking for something.
I love parks, and scrabble, but not usually together. I like riding
my bike over bridges, cooking. I can go out or stay in, as long as
its with the right people. I've traveled a bit (Belarus, Costa
Rica, and Philidelphia are my only 3rd world adventures), and its
fun. But again, it comes back to who you're with.
I like infectious laughter, and try to spread it when I can. I love
live music, but prefer smaller bar-sized shows to the big concerts.
I tip too much, so bartenders like me. I like the rain, as long as
its not too cold. I don't like passive aggressive types, or
manipulators. I'm honest and I'm looking for the same in a woman.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a stagehand for broadway/off-broadway theatre. More
specifically, I'm a carpenter and a props guy. I like the work. I
don't like to think that it's the only thing I'm doing with my
life, but its the only thing I get paid to do(for now).
I’m really good at
Problem solving. Its the main reason why I enjoy props work. I'm
pretty handy in general, which is good, because my roommates
aren't.
Getting people together. Not sure why, but when I plan something,
people like to show up.
Kissing. and being modest about it. I have a bit of an oral
fixation and practice makes perfect.
Air hockey, softball, breakfast, making a fool of myself, scrabble,
mariokart and smash brothers... I play guitar and harmonica, but I
wouldn't use the words "really" and "good" so much as "better than
a monkey"
The first things people usually notice about me
let me know...
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
whatever catches my attention on a given day... But the most recent
books would be: Lamb: the gospel according to biff, Breathers (a
zombie love story), The hollow chocolate bunnies of the apocalypse,
three musketeers, the temeraire novels, return of sherlock, some
robin hobb stuff... I'm also a big fan of any Christopher Moore,
Isaac Asimov, Doug Adams, and Robert Ludlum
as far as movies: big lebowski, army of darkness, naked gun, burn
after reading... and hopefully soon enough the arrested development
movie
Music: chili peppers, bob dylan, tom petty, greenday, mountain
goats, postal service, traveling wilbury's, flogging molly, lucinda
williams, mgmt, beatles, muddy waters, howlin' wolf, bobby darin,
ray charles, young blood brass band, barenaked ladies...
Food: Yes. I love it all. except hummus... not a big fan.
The six things I could never do without
My friends(family included), my guitar, bacon, my tools, my iphone
(don't hate, I dreamed of a toy that cool when I was 7), and
running barefoot in grass
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I should spend the time that I'm not thinking... what my plan
is for the zombie uprising (this guy in union sq gave me a very
enlightening pamphlet on the matter), women, where I'd like to work
next, should I do laundry today or tomorrow, but most often I think
about what I'd like to eat next.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like bars. I'm not a fan of dance clubs or scene type places. I
like comedy a lot, stand up clubs are fun. I don't work a mon-fri
9-5, so friday night isn't a big deal for me. I go out when the
right people want to join.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm not much for secrets, but you've gotta ask if you want to know.
You should message me if
If you like scruffy, t-shirt and jeans guys who clean up nice on
occasion. If you like to talk and laugh (a lot). If you're dorky,
goofy, or geeky and love it.
You shouldn't bother: if you think its hot when guys wear skinny
jeans or you've used the phrase "strong island" and weren't being
sarcastic. Also, you shouldn't bother if you're not interested in
meeting in the real world until you've traded dozens of messages
over weeks. I have nothing against those who want to get to know
each other digitally, but there is zilch romantic about it and I'm
sacrificing enough of my hopeless romantic tendencies just using
this site in the first place.
