" ... I want to do with you what spring does to the cherry trees ... "
~ Pablo Neruda

This is long ... if that is potentially bothersome, well then, no need to bother. I'm an extrovert, I love words and I'm a writer. There you have it.

I've been blessed with incredible life experiences that have shown me the value of both play and depth in my life. I have dear friends who mean the world to me. I have work I love that matters to me. I have a spiritual life that is the foundation when the road gets rough and tumble-ly. I have a joie de vivre that is wonderfully infectious. I have a solid sense of self and I am seduced by the mystery of it all. I have so very much and yet, I long too for that one missing ingredient of beloved partnership ... could it be with you?

Here are a few things I think I know:

Nothing lasts.
Attitude is everything.
Beauty is everywhere.
Nothing is black and white.
Nature can teach us so much.
We will lose everyone we love.
We simply must love anyway.
Music is the universal language.
Joy and pleasure are our birthright.
Life is so very fragile and temporary.
Conflict is natural and so is harmony.
The human heart is amazingly resilient.
We humans take ourselves way too seriously.
Intention really does make a world of difference.
Love is the most powerful force in the Universe.

My Relationship Desires:

I'm looking for an amazing, extraordinary man.
I want us to be utterly devoted to one another.
I want to share a life that invigorates, challenges and comforts us.
I want to honor one another's solitude and balance that with deep contact.
I love expressing love with physical affection, attention and words of appreciation and delight in my partner.
I want to share the psychological, emotional, sexual, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of ourselves.
I’ve been around long enough to balance romance with realism and can differentiate fireworks from what it takes keeping the home fires burning.
I don't need to be completed or rescued, nor do you; but we recognize that sharing the journey of love and life, in all its dimensions, makes both of us more whole.
I welcome, learn from and respect our different perspectives and yet realize that similar world views and lifestyles are important components in creating a life together.

I am ready to replace the “I” with “We.”

Some things that matter to me:

Self Inquiry
Social Justice
Creative expression
Robust vulnerability
Emotional intelligence
Laughter, laughter & more laughter
Conversation that absorbs & engages
Sharing cultural experiences of music, dance, theater
Showing up, with all of who we are and knowing it is more than enough
Faith, hope and trust that anything is possible, leaving little room for a feeling of being put upon or victimized by life

Assorted tidbits about me:

I'm learning to love what is.
I live life intensely and deliberately.
I'm allergic to dogma and absolutes.
I know how to listen and pay attention.
I'm curious, optimistic, smart and sensual.
There's both a gypsy and a homebody in my soul.
I am capable and competent, yet I know a little something about humility, too.
I know how to be with the sacred and I'm irreverent when the moment calls for it.
My inner authority and intuition are well honed and are my finest navigational tools.
I love being in circle with kindred spirits, whether we are singing, sharing deeply, laughing or being silent.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Keeping my heart open
Writing and performing my one-woman show
Learning to be as loving of a human being as I possibly can.
Learning to wish that everything should come to pass exactly as it does.
Recognizing that it's time and I'm ready to share my life in soulful, intimate partnership.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pillow Talk
Creating Circles
Finding my way in foreign places
Oh yeah, I can't help it ... spelling
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, now, I have no idea ... want to weigh in on this question?

Prefer Indies and Foreign. If it must be Hollywood, I prefer something with a message, something provocative, something inspiring, something that makes me laugh hard. No interest in shoot-em-ups or sophomoric romps.

Okay, here's my 'real' answer:

Online dating confounds me. Somehow I feel like I don't quite know how to do it - write intimate details about myself, read them about others and then make some determination based on words and photos on shimmery white screens and algorithms and questions and on and on and on. Huh? It's very cart-before-the-horse-ish. I love the allure and the slow (and not-so-slow) unraveling, exploration and discoveries that come with courtship. I love finding out who we are, where we've come from, what we've learned and how we want to move forward by being in the same place, breathing the same air - moment to moment - and sharing luscious, languid time together. I'm not much of an old-fashioned sort, but I'm quite enchanted by that fluttering in my chest when I see someone across the room and they see me, too and suddenly it feels like a gust of fresh air has moved through and the din of conversation around us fades away and it's only the mutual, magnetic eye contact and energy between us that exists. That kind of experience obviously can't happen in this limited dimensionality and yet I am an ever-optimistic and determined sort. So I'm here, I'm in and I'm available to do this dance, albeit with a bit of stumbling and even some bruising along the way. Pardon me if I step on your toes. I'm doing my best and trust that you are, too.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to do your part to revive the lost art of kissing.

You're open to an easy meeting with no pressure and plenty of room to be real. Even if the sparks are not ignited between us, we can take a walk or share a beverage or a meal, enjoy each other's company and wish one another well without taking it all too terribly personally.

We have geographical compatibility. A long distance thing is just not my thing.

You are available and interested in partnership and I seem like someone with whom you'd like to explore the possibilities.

You've been around the block and you know there's plenty more to this life and you want someone with whom to live and laugh and grow and learn and travel and oh, so much more.

If these words resonate with you ... well then, come ... take my hand and let's dive in.
