I am an outgoing, fun, and sometimes crazy guy who knows how to be serious when I have to. I am very honest, straight forward, and I tend to go after what I want. I am very bad at hiding my curiosities and I tend to say what I am thinking out loud (whether I want to or not). A lot of people get weirded out by some of these qualities, but I can't be anyone other than myself. I have been told people either like me right away, or they are not sure what to make of me.. I guess you'll just have to decide for yourself :-)

I moved to Austin in September of 2011 and I still don't know that many people. I have had less than a handful of dates in that time, and I am looking to jump into the deep end and sink or swim. Read ahead if you are intrigued.

Right now I am a freelance Sound Designer (yeah I hate the coverall title too) and I run my own production team with some good friends/colleagues. I am trying to carve my own professional, creative niche in this city and find where out where I belong. In the off time I am also trying to do that with my personal life as well, but sometimes it takes a back seat and I am trying to fix that by being here.

My secret talent is reading people. I am very good at getting inside their heads and seeing why they do what they do. I have a freak talent for memorizing dialogue from films.. and an even more impressive talent for remembering distinctive sounds and smells from my life (its partially how I got into the business).

I am an OK guitar player at best, but I like playing them. I like building them and fixing them even more. If you have a guitar that needs a repair - talk to me and we'll see what we can do.

I am also a very good problem solver, but of course the blessing and curse of that ability is I am much better at fixing other people's problems than my own. I am good at seeing both objective and subjective sides and weighing the difference.

If I had to guess - that I am outgoing and shameless about myself - I have always lived my life fairly out-loud. Other things I have been told is I have a great smile (been told to upload better pictures, someone help me take some) and I am good at telling stories.

BOOKS: I will admit that I do not read that often. I grew up a movie fan, so books kind of took a backseat. I like classic science-fiction (Jules Verne, H.G. Wells stuff). I have tried reading adventure, but its hard to get it off the page for me, science fiction usually engages me best. Most of the books I read are How-To or informational so I can learn something.

MOVIES: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dark City, The Matrix (#1, not #2 or 3), Gross Point Blank (can't believe I forgot this one the first time around), The Matador, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, The Fifth Element, John Carpenters: The Thing, Sunshine, Romeo + Juliet, Casino Royale, Iron Man, Star Wars (4-6), Bill and Ted (Both), The Edge, Taxi Driver, The Big Sleep, SLC Punk... etc.

TV: It fluctuates. I haven't had broadcast TV in 7 years, so its usually catching up on what I choose to watch. All time favorites would have to be: The Mighty Boosh, Junkyard Wars, Firefly, Fringe, Sports Night, Stargate Universe, Spaced, The Adventures of Pete and Pete... I am currently watching: The 4400, Breaking Bad, Archer, Bob's Burgers.

MUSIC: I have a wide array of tastes, but I usually stay in the Classic Rock, Blues, and Heavy Metal camps: Mastodon, ZZ Top! Faith No More, Tomahawk, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, No Doubt, Rush, Dick Dale, The Darkness, The Ventures, Green Day (classic version), Chuck Berry, Judas Priest, Bo Diddley, Jimi Hendrix, Black Label Society, Joe Walsh (James Gang, Eagles), Black Sabbath, Nirvana.. the list goes on.. and I am sure some of it would surprise you.

FOOD: I am not a foodie I can tell you that. I usually eat what I am familiar with, but I have tried a great many new things since moving to Austin. It's a wonderful place to experiment and I look forward to trying more.

(1&2) Conversation and Companionship. I would like to think that I could survive on a desert island.. and probably could, but if I go a few days without a good talk my moral drops considerably.
(3) Movies and Music. Its a career because its a passion. It would suck to do without.
(4) Fresh Air. I do work inside a lot, and do not go out as much as I should, but when I do I immediately feel better.
(5) Something personal to craft. My career involves making other people's dreams and visions come to life, and I have learned that if I do not have something to work on just for me.. I start to lose it.
(6) If we are being honest - sex of course

On a regular basis...

Myself - I self reflect a lot.
Others - why people do certain things, what compels them and why.
Women - All of it, most I will never understand as much as I would like to.
Work - What I have to do, where I will get my next job.
Guitars - Building mostly, and various design aesthetics.

EVERYTHING ELSE - my mind drifts a lot, and since I say what I am thinking, you'll hear it... but not in an ADD I am not paying attention sort of way. I pay too much attention.

The same thing I do every Friday night.... Try to take over the world.

I have discovered I have weaknesses for a few things when it comes to women:

- Polka-dots
- Heels (even, and especially with already tall women)
- women who can cook
- bows in their hair

Don't know why, these things just catch my eye.

I am honestly open to talk about anything and everything - bring it on!

Honestly I have spent the last year working on my business and myself as a professional. It's finally time that I do something personal for me and get out and see the world again. I would love to meet people who appreciate me for who I am Good, Bad, and Otherwise and start making some fun connections.

I have always been a very open person, but now that I am in a new city and still don't know many people, I am trying to be more honest in general. I am putting all the cards on the table and looking to see what happens. I am very outgoing and a conversationalist.. if you have something you want to ask or something you want to talk about - Don't be shy! I would love to hear if anybody has got something good to say.
