I grew up in the southern US (though I don’t use the word “y'all”), lived in Boston for many years (stay away from saying “wicked…”), and then moved here to Toronto about 8 years ago (I say “eh” now!).
I'm looking for someone to share in all the adventures I want to have in life. I work in the travel industry, so it's a huge passion of mine; I love exploring the world. And Toronto too! I'm a BlogTO addict and am always looking for a different way to experience the city. How amazing to experience that with your honey by your side!
My family and friends are so important to me; though I live far from home, I always keep in touch and conspire on how to next be together. I know I want to start a family of my own when I find the right person.
Lots of people ask for no drama on this site, well, that's me for sure. In fact, I find clever ways to disengage myself from drama. I like having a balanced, mindful presence and am always trying to bring some of that Southern hospitality and generosity to this here city. I'm always searching for little ways to make the ordinary more special.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in a job that challenges me everyday and has allowed me to grow, meet amazing people, and explore more of the world than I ever thought I would. My family motto..."let's go places and eat things". Pretty much sums up what I look forward to and enjoy. I've moved around North America and now am loving building my home here in Toronto. I love this city! Not sure what to do? I grab my bike and ride around town with my eyes open until something catches my eye.
My current passions: trying to lift heavy things, training for a long running race and cooking up a storm and experimenting in my CrockPot.
I’m really good at
...quoting movies and doing accents.
Practical shit like fixing toilets and killing bugs.
Putting together sweet travel itineraries.
Stretching and cooking.
Being loyal and a caring friend.
Being a pedestrian.
The first things people usually notice about me
My freckles and my sometimes off the wall sense of humour!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love all kinds of music (yes, including country music), even play a bit of guitar and sing. I love cooking and reading up on new recipes to try out. My favs are mexican, anything Asian, raw foods, sushi. I enjoy watching sports, especially college bball—being from the States, it’s in your blood I guess. I also have almost every piece of sporting equipment you can think of—skis, badminton, tennis, cycling, golf?! Love reading when I can stay awake! Usually reading a best seller I got from my mom. Fav shows are Big Bang Theory and Sex and the City (reruns are always on), all the awesome shows that I miss on cable that I watch on Netflix, but sorry, not yet seen Game of Thones. I really love movies and am pretty versatile in my taste, though only enjoy a horror movie if I have someone whose arm I can use as a blindfold. Love documentaries! One of my many talents is remembering movies, especially some of the classic silly ones...Old School, Dumb & Dumber. I dare you to challenge me to a quote-off.
The six things I could never do without
-wine and bourbon (I mean I could live without them, but why?)
-medium rare filet mignon
-a good moisturizer
-someone to enjoy above points 1 to 4 with, ok maybe point 5 too
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my career and how to continually make a difference. I think often about my family and friends and where and when I'll visit them next. Also, I think about my next meal, and whether I'll cook, what I'll cook, what I need from the grocery or if I want to go out instead--it's a big passion of mine! And what else I want to do to decorate my house. Anybody know a good handyman?
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out for drinks with colleagues and seeing where the night takes me--karaoke, cool bar, sometimes to dance to a band. Or maybe just relaxing at home after a busy week. Love cooking for friends. Up for anything!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I put a rubber ducky in my baths...no joke.
You should message me if
You have a sense of humor and adventure, ambition, independence, intelligence and a bit of silliness--this is definitely attractive to me.
I'd rather meet for a coffee or drink or a whole meal of food than constant emailing, so ask me out! I'm from the south ya know, looking for a gentleman who wants to call me to ask me out (ps this never happens in Canada, so why don't you be the first). But if you don't and I'm interested - I'm not afraid to ask you out :) And let's not get sucked into texting world, cool?
