My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.

Hi, I'm Matt.
Someone recently described me as a 'walking Judd Apatow movie.' Take that as you will.

I enjoy pop culture, music, writing, and generally all things that make me happy and glad to be alive. I find myself on adventures on a nearly weekly basis. I've partied on a roof in LA once. Used to drive to Palm Springs with my posse on a whim. The wind takes me places sometimes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a graduate from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Radio/TV/Film.

Just got a job doing customer service for a technology sales company, so that's exciting. I kick butt at e-mailing people and tracking orders.

I have written a couple of scripts, an idea for a TV sitcom pilot, and some other stuff like that. I hope to eventually make money off of it, maybe. Ask me about them and maybe I'll give you a sneak peek :)

every night lately I've been learning how to cook, too. I'm getting pretty good at it, I think.

Other than that I go where I'm wanted, where I'm needed, and sometimes neither of these.

but I'd love to meet someone who gives me a place I'm meant to be.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, I'm told.

I used to sing a lot in high school choir and I guess I was pretty good at that. Did a bit of musical theater too. But I also have a knack for helping people out with their problems; I'm a listener, fo sho.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How skinny and tall I am. Mostly the skinny part. I'd like to think of that as some strange meta-compliment, even if they mean it negatively. They're just jelly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies: I try to keep up to date, but I also love the classics. I have a soft spot for 1960s french new wave, like Godard's 'breathless.'

My film/TV writing idols are Tina Fey, Aaron Sorkin, Diablo Cody, Ricky Gervais, and Edgar Wright.

Television: the daily show, 30 rock, parks and rec, arrested development, adventure time, girls, portlandia, orange is the new black *< current addiction* and more.

Books: currently reading all sorts of cool stuff

As for favorites, I typical enjoy non-fiction stuff about the entertainment industry, but I have some fiction faves too.

Music: THIS LIST IS BECOMING A MONSTER THAT WILL LIKELY DEVOUR ME: Sleater-Kinney, Beach House, The Shins, Sleigh Bells, Best Coast, Rilo Kiley, The Eames Era, Mazzy Star, Arcade Fire, The New Pornographers, The Strokes, Wavves, Seapony, The Walkmen, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sonic Youth, Beach Fossils, Deerhunter, Dum Dum Girls, Tokyo Police Club, Witches, Widowspeak, Titus Andronicus, Interpol, No Joy, Lower Dens, Tame Impala, Melody's Echo Chamber, Vampire Weekend, Diiv, Foxygen, Chelsea Light Moving, La Sera, Vivian Girls, My Bloody Valentine, Phoenix, Speedy Ortiz, Joanna Gruesome, Potty Mouth, All Dogs, Perfect Pussy, Medicine, Pavement, Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Colleen Green, Broken Water, Foxygen, Hole, Japandroids, Neutral Milk Hotel, Tacocat, Eternal Summers, Honeyblood, Posse, Real Estate, Tweens, Fear of Men, Swearin', Helium, Gold-Bears, Little Big League, Sonic Avenues, Alvvays, Life Without Buildings, and more. Recommendations for cool music is welcome, too.

Food: pretty much everything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. music
2. friends
3. food
4. sleep
5. dreams
6. netflix
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
kiss me in the shadow; kiss me in the shadow of a doubt
swear it's just a dream...

Love, or my lack thereof. Also how my friends are doing, and whether or not I'm doing a good job being awesome to them. Also, food. Especially tacos.

But seriously, I find myself thinking about the pitfalls of human nature a lot. Like, how we always want what we can't have? Super interesting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
either hanging out at home with the dog or out doing something really dumb.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm terrible with names. I think I know why, too

you know how when you meet someone, you usually shake their hand? I guess I focus so much on shaking the person's hand that I ignore when they say their name.

is this normal?
