Your Notes
Edit your notesI am smile prone, short, and a planner by nature.
My Self-Summary
Like George W. Bush, I'm an optimist. I like focusing on what I want to happen rather than what I fear won't. Unlike George W. Bush, I plan ahead (rather than jumping into a starting a pre-emptive war in countries that hate us.) Planning, in general, is something I'm pretty good at and enjoy.
I enjoy people. Although I tend to be more introverted by nature, I still enjoy spending time with friends and good company in general. I thrive on knowing and being near good people. And laughing. I do so love to laugh.
The greatest virtue a person can have is compassion, in my opinion. I value compassion very highly. Next would be communication.
Knitting is addictive. I warn those of you who are contemplating knitting yourself a hat or a scarf, be prepared to be consumed by this hobby and find yourself with a corner in your living room filled with yarn and needles and knitting books.
Camping is fun too. I feel like I get reset while camping. The pressure valve on all of the stresses of my world gets released and I can function again after camping. And, I really need to go camping again soon...
I find more and more that I love projects. Be it knitting a cardigan for my mother or making etched copper ornaments for Christmas, or fixing broken systems (like the foster care system) or sewing my own curtains, I really enjoy having an idea, forming a plan, and getting it done. One of my next projects: Organizing a Steampunk party at my community center. :) UPDATE! The Steampunk Pansexual Party is scheduled for Sept 19th and a larger event open to the public will be the Steampunk Exhibition Ball on Dec. 5th!
I believe most people look better in glasses. And I have a growing fondness for beards.
It's a shame that you can't choose your orientation. If I could choose, I think I'd pick being bi.
Things I hate: shopping, the previous administration, seafood, eggs, rude people (including those who don't signal), missing the bus, jewelry commercials (not every woman just wants diamonds), strong perfumes and colognes, and Hummers.
Things I love: pretty wrapping paper, Asian teapots, giving presents, playing with kittens, the Seattle Public Library system, good theatre, happy playful sex, shoulder rubs, Steven Colbert, cute socks, alpaca yarn, making out with my boyfriend, and ice cream.
Little Caveat: This is a second profile that I've slowly made my primary one. My old handle (PlayfulKissing) seems kinda silly to me now but it was on that profile that I wrote a couple of fun tests.
What I’m doing with my life
Beyond that, I'm looking to move to a better job that pays more or is at least more fulfilling. I'm considering social work...which...is likely to pay less.
Also, I've been volunteering more and more with my community center (the Center for Sex Positive Culture).
I’m really good at
And...wrapping presents. I love wrapping presents as well.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(B)Movies: Hero, Serenity, American Pie, American Beauty, Fight Club, Sleeping Beauty, Super Troopers, The Princess Bride, Frida, Office Space, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Ratatouille, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, etc.
(C)Music: Well done mash-ups, old Michael Jackson songs, The White Stripes, Ween, The Arctic Monkeys, Eminem, Barenaked Ladies, Green Day, Tom Petty, Gorillaz, Ray Charles, Glenn Miller, Beth Gibbons, Amy Winehouse, bouncy Disco, etc.
(D)Foods: Tom kha gai, tikka masala, fried chicken, chocolate, fruit + yogurt + granola, good coffee, mangos, sweet potato fries, ice cream, panang curry, steak, cheese, food prepared by someone else.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'd like to learn more about guns. I feel pretty ignorant about them and since they're such a hot button political issue for so many people, I'd like to know more. (Hint, hint: If you know stuff about guns...and want to teach a liberal a thing or two, here's your chance.) UPDATE! I recently had a little tutorial on the basic workings of guns and rifles and had an opportunity to fire several of them. :)
Been reading a bit more of the Bible lately. It's rather fucked up. More people really should know what's in there. I myself am technically an agnostic although I live my life as an atheist.
Also, I've been seriously considering becoming a foster parent someday.
On a typical Friday night I am
Or sometimes...if I'm mopey or sad, I watch kitten videos on YouTube to cheer myself up. Works every time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm lactose intolerant.
I'm allergic to latex.
And...I'm a happy drunk.
