Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an easy going person who enjoys a little bit of everything, and
will try almost anything once. I'm always up for an adventure, and
I'm more than willing to spend an evening curled up on a couch
watching TV shows and movies.
I'm quiet at first, but really open up with those I'm comfortable
with. I'm the kind of person that would rather have a few really
close friends than a ton of acquaintances that I rarely see.
I'm also really horrible at describing myself, so please, if you
want to know something, ask!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just moved back to the Michigan area after spending a couple
years in Washington, DC for work. I missed the area, so I convinced
my work to let me transfer to a local office out here. I'm
definitely loving being back so far!
I'm trying to get back into outdoor activities. I bought a lot of
new snowboarding gear, but didn't get to it much this last winter.
I spent my summer doing a lot of kayaking and biking in my free
time, and for this winter I picked up a pair of skiis - hopefully I
use them and my snowboard more this year.
The rest of my time is usually spent reading books or playing a
little bit of computer games here and there, though I've been
having trouble finding any game that can hold my attention for very
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Baking anything with a dough. Mmmm dough. Soft pretzels? Bagels?
Pizza? Check, check, check.
I'm also really good at completely failing at making any kinds of
desserts. Why are cookies so hard to make?!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My long flowing hair, my deep sensual baritone voice, my ruggedly
good looks. HA! No. I have no idea, to be honest. I'm usually
pretty quiet at first, so maybe the first thing people notice about
me is that I came out of nowhere with some crazy hilarious one
liner for the conversation.

Music: Everything? I've been hooked on The Decemberists since
college, which introduced me to other bands like Iron and Wine,
Band of Horses, Mumford and Sons, Of Monsters and Men, Imagine
Dragons, the list goes on and evolves as time passes. I get a kick
out of the jazzy vocal stylings of Kat Edmonson and Caro Emerald,
and love female singer/songwriter styles like Ingrid Michaelson and
Kate Havnevik. And less often, usually when I'm in the car driving,
I switch around between Alternative, Classic, and Hard Rock
stations. If you have a favorite song, album, or group, let me
know! I'm always looking for new music to listen to.
Movies: What Dreams May Come, Dead Poets Society, One Crazy Summer,
High Fidelity,Men With Brooms. Super Troopers and Beerfest if I'm
drinking with my friends.
Books: Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Hemingway, and Dickens, with lots more
still to go. Some more recent authors like John Green and Nail
Gaiman, and I have Nick Offerman's Paddle Your Own Canoe that I've
been meaning to read.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The Internet. I feel lost without my connection to the world.
Music. Who doesn't love music?
Books. My to-read list is starting to get as big as my Read list,
and this is strangely comforting.
Nature. Walking in it, swimming in it, camping in it. I get stir
crazy when I can't get enough of it.
Scotch. Mmm scotch. Scotchy scotch scotch, down in my belly.
And a sixth? Hrm. Don't know.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why I did that embarrassing/stupid thing that one time. OH MY GOD
WHY!? Quickly followed by thoughts about how to stop thinking about
that lovely nugget from my past.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On my couch, or on my balcony if the weather is nice, reading and
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'll admit anything to anyone, as long as I feel I can trust them.
My life is an open book.
