My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
UPDATE: I want to encourage everyone who's been searching for their perfect match not to give up hope. As after dating many other wonderful girls here over the years I at last found that person (littlezephyr33) on this very site last year and we were recently married. I wish all of you happiness and success on your quest for love!

Hey there, thank you for your time. Born and raised in Cleveland, OH. Just celebrated my third anniversary of NYC living. Moved here after receiving my MFA in classical acting from The Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

I'm always up for a great conversation but since this was originally designed as a dating site (rather than just a test-taking one) if you're local and still interested after we've done some of that then what's to stop us meeting? Never understood the stigma against online dating: how well did you really know that last guy to whom you gave your number?

I'm basically The Anti-"Situation" ("The Please Disperse!" perhaps?): no abs, pale, no one night stands, don't drink, have a real job, don't fight, rarely use a comb, unshaven, no cologne, knowledgeable, charming, witty, sweet, intentionally funny and I try to find some depth and meaning with any woman I might connect with.

Essentially, I'm as interested in touching the parts of you which are human as those which make you female.

I think beauty comes in innumerable forms and shades although I admit a personal weakness for "Sexeh librarian" style (i.e. you rock glasses- but not those humongous ironic ones. Really, girls of Brooklyn, those weren't sexy in the 80's either, please just stop that fad). So self-described nerd-ette, apply here.

All about the arts especially film, literature and music of all genres (currently still obsessed with Irish singer-songwriting genius Damien Rice (see my pics), Okkervil River alt popsters Rilo Kiley) and I'd love to see you name a more poetic lyricist than John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats but, sadly, he's appears largely unknown. In addition to acting and directing, I write and sing songs and play guitar and just got a good mic so I'll put some of 'em up on MySpace soon.

I'm several years past 30 but A) No one ever believes me. B) Way too many on this site seem to search by a very limited age range so I hope to at least get a proper chance first and perhaps even cause them to allow for the possibility of an exception (stop and really think about it girls: aren't most all of those movie/rock stars you love older than their 20's?).

I am chock-full, buttery, and goodness
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Erm...growing slowly deader by the hour?

I decided to make this a less torturously long read, to move the funky rhymes I wrote about my teaching years to the journal section. So to sate your curiosity, click on "posts" at the top of the profile page below my pic. I'm also going to put links there soon for you to check out a handful of my onscreen performances.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A) I'm not Amish.

B) My honesty, kindness and sincerity (Confusing to many in NYC).

C) My milkshake (infamous for its all-encompassing power to bring all the boys to the yard).

D) My profound lack of talent.

E) My manly uvula.

Oh yes, they asked about food too. My favorite thing to eat so far in the whole city is the chicken roll at Maffi (22nd and 6th). You'll thank me (or they have a spinich roll too if you're a vegetarian).

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Overanalysis.

Why Steelheart aren't still continuously reigning atop the Billboard charts.

On this site lately I'm noticing that more than half of you NYC ladies have pics of all these exotic trips to far off lands (me on a mountaintop in Nepal!) so I wonder A) how the hell you find time to take off work for such crazy adventures. B) If you don't have a steady day job to take time from where the hell do you get enough money to take such jaunts? Clearly, I'm doing something wrong.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Rehearsing and/or performing in a play. Not always, though, my Friday nights have sometimes been free enough to actually go and see some of them in this quaint, retiring hamlet. I also enjoy going to all manner of other cultural places and events happening throughout the city (which are surprisingly often free or nearly) so you should generally prefer artistic and intellectual activities over barhopping and clubbing etc. and also love staying in to watch movies, make dinner together, play scrabble/trivial pursuit/cranium, cuddle etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Meh. I'll answer anything you want to ask! Here's one you wouldn't: I have a definite "lesbian crush" on the luminous Rachel Maddow (yes, I know, as a man I'm using the term incorrectly).
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
A) You got this far; even if you skimmed. Bonus if I didn't even look/rate/save/message you etc. first. although I do a lot of that here, you can't find everyone who might be a great match on your own. Besides, if a female really wants to stand apart then nothing's more impressive to me than reaching out unexpectedly. I doubt we guys as bombarded by interest as you are.

B) You're a cool and/or hot but non-smoking, non-spambot (sorry, my screen name refers more to a bi-polar Danish dude) single female in the greater NYC area (but not Jersey or Connecticut unless you're in the city itself a whole lot) who's not sure that she should. Yes, you should: I'll make it worth your time.

C) You have some criticisms or suggestions about makin' my lame profile a smidge less lame (besides that it's too long).

D) Ideally, all of the above.
