Let's see how far my inability to write a self-summary gets me ...

For starters, my name is Alex. I tend to be a quiet and shy person in initial social interactions. However once I get to know someone, I find it easier (usually) to open up and be myself.

I'm currently attending community college with a major in computer science. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with said degree, most likely at least continue to a bachelor's. After that, my career path is largely up in the air. As of late, however, I have been reconsidering a career in healthcare (when I first started college, I was going for biology and pre-med). Overall I'm not quite sure what I want to do.

Currently, my life revolves around a full time job as a shift leader at a convenience store and going to school. Aside from that, I'm doing my best to piece together a semblance of a social life.

Listening; I am a very good listener, or at least that's what I've been told.
Problem solving; I usually like solving problems, whether it's algebra or my friends' personal issues.
Programming; I would like to think that I'm a good programmer (if I didn't, then I probably chose the wrong major).

It's probably the fact that I'm quiet and timid. Though, it'd probably be my tendency to be (sometimes overly) sarcastic, once I've opened up (or while at work).

In the end, I can't really say what people usually notice first about me; I've never actually been told. Maybe it's my facial hair? Or maybe my seemingly inability to smile in photos?

Unfortunately, I don't really have the time to sit down and actually read an entire book. I've tried starting several, but I never get the chance to get very far. By the time I do get the chance, it's been to long and I'd just have to start from the beginning again.

It's hard to say which movies I call my favorites, since lately my taste in movies as been really picky. I do tend to favor action films revolving around sci-fi.

When it comes to shows, Netflix has been pretty much my only access (which can be somewhat limiting). Like with movies, I tend to be picky. Though not quite as much. Of the shows I've seen some of my favorites include: Firefly, Heroes, The Walking Dead, Supernatural, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory, and House.

Overall, I have a general taste in music. Usually I like to listen to fast-paced songs, but I tend to listen to almost anything aside from most country, opera, and distasteful rap. I don't think I've actually come up with a decision on what my favorite band is either.

I'm not a very picky eater, but when I have the choice I like to go with almost anything Italian (I love pasta!). Sandwiches or salads are a frequent alternative.

Usually I end up going out with friends. If not, then I tend to sit at home and wish that I had a better social life.

Sometimes I make really weird noises when I'm alone.
