I am opinionated, snarky, and fabulous.

My Self-Summary

Well, I moved to Chicago from NYC several years ago and have yet to fall for this city. I am looking to meet other like-minded, feminine women of the lesbian persuasion with whom I might roam this arctic paradise. Wit is essential. Hatred of all things LOL and emoticons helpful. I think being able to enjoy a cocktail or two is also helpful.

What I’m doing with my life

Working, a lot. As a lawyer. I tell myself I am a quirky lawyer. Its how I sleep at night.

Feel free to send along any career suggestions. Previous rejections: primatologist; proctologist; pilot.

I’m really good at

Avoiding questions.
Making people laugh.
Changing the subject.

The first things people usually notice about me

My intense stare. I am not afraid to look.
My eyes (see above).
My ability to hold a conversation with just about anyone.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Fave books: History of Love by Nicole Krauss; Middlesex, of course (pre-Oprah)
Fave movies: most things Terry Gilliam (especially Brazil and 12 Monkeys); foreign films (Claire Denis' Chocolat, Au Revior Les Enfants, Wings of Desire), Lost in Translation, a secret love of comic book flicks (Hellboy), etc.
Fave music: Radiohead, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Goldfrapp, Ladytron, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Shrift, etc.

Food? Yes, I like it, especially when coupled with fine wine at a restaurant.

The six things I could never do without

Music
Walnuts
Beets
My parents (cheesy but true)
My friends (also cheesy but true)
World peace (just kidding)

On a typical Friday night I am

At first itching to hit a bar with friends (e.g. the Violet Hour, Whistler). But then I sometimes get sucked in to staying in, watching a movie and trying to find chinese take-out in this city that compares to NYC's.
