I'm back in Los Angeles, even though all my stuff's still up in San Luis Obispo... This "quick gig" has turned into a much more long-term thing. Kinda like the TARDIS. Once I stepped into it, I realized it was a whole lot bigger than we'd anticipated.
One time when I was in fifth grade, I ditched sunday school. I found a teachers' supply room with a locking door to protect me from certain recapture, and I started opening cupboards in search of things to entertain myself with while the rest my family was busy getting holier.
While munching on some Saltines minus the salt (just "Ines?") I'd found, my skinny kid arms rummaged their way through candles, matches, acrylic paints, lefty scissors, and rubber cement... The label on the latter said "Flammable."
I almost burned the church down. In hindsight, my parents probably should have known my faith was doomed...
I'm a California kid. I grew up in the Silicon Valley area, spent some time on the central coast reconnecting with family and working the family business, but Los Angeles is home. I love this state! I'm enjoying taking in all the surrounding scenery from the saddle of my Mad Max motorcycle (I WILL survive the zombie apocalypse).
So yeah... I travel a lot around the state. I see more of my friends that way. It also helps keep the Feds confused as to my whereabouts, without ever actually breaking that pesky "crossing state lines" prohibition...
I'm kidding, of course... This fancy anklet tells the government where I am at all times.
I'm a singer. I used to make music for a living, and had a pretty good run for a while there. Major label. Major tours. Major recoupment debt... That whole industry still hasn't quite resolved its "identity crisis," so I've actually been putting my college degree to work for me. Imagine that!
Music and blogging are still "scenes" I'm active in, though... Even if they aren't quite payin' the rent, it's fun side income and it keeps me out of trouble. I'm fascinated and endlessly amused by the new opportunities and challenges this "new media" revolution has brought about.
There are few possessions I really care about in life, yet somehow I still seem to have amassed more "stuff" than I know what to do with. I love going out and socializing just as much as I love working in the garage by myself...
I'm a cynic with a positive outlook. A cultured pottymouth. A brooding intellectual who's quick with a goofy face.
Ah, life's dichotomies...
Confused yet? Say hi! I'm eager to explain...
