My self-summary
First off, I am not Batman, pity, I know but hey we can't win them all.

Anyway enough of the weird stuff(kidding). I'm an outgoing nerdy dude who probably doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut sometimes. The outdoors and the indoors are both realms I frequent. I like reading, video games, movies as much as frisbee, biking, or hiking.

I've seen plankton glow in the dark in Puerto Rico, played hand drums for iguanas in the Caribbean, and walked the illuminated streets of Paris.

I can be a fierce leftist, I'm always a staunch Ally, and Earth is more than just a place I live.

I suck at small talk.
What I’m doing with my life
Though I wish I were pursuing my childhood dream of exploring unknown places, and discovering and proving the existence of the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot, I am involved in the less admirable, less ambitious field and probably less important field of Renewable Energy. And no I don't use that electricity to power my Frankenstein's Monster maker machine. Though I think that would be cool.

Just moved to the DC area, still getting my apartment in order and making plans to explore everything I can from the city to the numerous natural areas around here.
I’m really good at
Board games (Settlers of Catan, Risk, Lords of Waterdeep, Cards Against Humanity, Betrayal at House on the Hill) making analogies, not being a ninja, making faces, not closing tabs on Chrome and having to bookmark 10 articles a day so I can eventually get to them.

Finding the center of the room, starting dance parties, letting the general populace's opinion of me slide.
The first things people usually notice about me
Either I'm quiet and reserved, or loud and bombastic. Most of the time I'm just a cannon salvo waiting to be fired, light the fuse and wait for the boom.

I'm that weirdo that enjoys getting caught out in the rain/runs out into during the workday.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot of science fiction, fantasy and non-fiction. Preferably I enjoy things that questions our place in the universe and rattle the cages of our minds. Kurt Vonnegut is one of my faves. Currently working through Malazan: Tales of the Fallen.

Shows: Parks and Recreation, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, Bojack Horseman. Currently working through Twin Peaks. I'm a big fan of cartoons (I think they can be better than most "normal TV"), Venture Bros might hold the top slot.

Movies: These are my thing. I love watching and analyzing random details. Again science fiction is a strong point, but South Korean movies have a special place in my heart. Princess Mononoke is possibly my favorite movie of all time. The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy is will always be near and dear to me.

Music:I don't even know where to begin here, but if you know anything about the Polish Ambassador, we can definitely be friends. I have recently developed an obsession with the Screaming Females and Rubblebucket. I'm constantly searching for new music and I have recently become somewhat snobby in my tastes (don't worry I'm pretty open to giving everything a shot) but I love strong lyrics.
The six things I could never do without

Trees, nature, feeling grass on bare feet

Class warfare
Seltzer water
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to bring down the patriarchy in increasingly metaphoric ways, environmental activism, my carbon footprint, how many licks it takes to get to center of the tootsie pop, what justice must taste like, whatever happened to Chris Tucker.

Whether or not I'm a pile of trash in a teenager's room that has gained sentience.

I think a lot about nuance, and how if one thing phrased two different ways can change the meaning of the phrase (i.e. not giving a fuck vs giving zero fucks).

How to talk to new people, especially through text.
On a typical Friday night I am
Casting magic spells to fight goblins and forest trolls. Or commanding large legions of paper monsters destroying my enemies ruthlessly. Saving the world. Maybe even dancing in the rain.
Sometimes I grab a mug of mead with my fellow warriors, or slug some dredge from a barrel with my robed companions, or ....go to a bar with some of my friends. I ran out of clever metaphors, deal.
You should message me if
You're a feminist, not afraid to be loud, looking for a gamer buddy or need the whitest dance partner to make you look better.

You like to explore new things, whether it be through cooking, gaming, walking. I live to be adventurous.
