My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm honest, caring, gentle, sentimental, and intelligent. I am a romantic and a gentleman. I'm not afraid of commitment. Ok sure, its true, but every guy must say that. I'm also a huge nerd, my humor tends toward the sarcastic and I'm lazy. Wait, there must be some way to spin lazy... uh, I like to be comfortable.
I love the outdoors, learning, science, critical thinking, anthropology, art, music, history and culture. Basically, if its interesting, I'm into it. I love having fun, goofing off and making jokes. I pride myself in having a quick wit (read smart-ass). I love hiking, mountain biking, going to the coast, going to a movie and then discussing it, reading, building things, painting, enjoying art, listening to music, learning, playing games. I'm a nerd, so if its interesting, I like it. If its good and it was made with love, I love it. My family is the best and my friends are awesome, I love hanging out with them. How can you not love a family where the women are knitters and everyone is sarcastic? I enjoy meeting new people, too.
I'm mechanically inclined, I like to make things, build and work on bicycles (though I'm pretty good with cars too), build Ikea furniture and fix stuff around the house (no its true, I swear).
My goals for the future include learning a new language (I'm leaning toward German), buying a house, and finding someone to grow old with. Inspired by my grandmother and sister, I have learned the joy of cooking. Desserts have been my focus lately, Apple Dutch Babies, Irish Soda Breads, and cookies. I have a lemon cookie recipe that, alone, earned me a second date. My new favorite thing to make is Challah, because its delicious, fun to make, and you get to yell "Challah!"
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work for the Post Office (insert joke here). I have a Rural Route and I love it. I get to see the ocean and mountains everyday. The best part is getting to know the awesome people and their dogs.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Recalling pointless information, spotting wildlife, over-thinking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My curly (and frequently messy) hair and my green eyes, when I'm not squinting into the sun like I just realized I'm doing in every picture...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books? Jeez, everything from Icelandic Sagas to Lebanese cookbooks. I'm a nerd, so of course I like Heinlein, Howard, Harrison, Wolfe, Matheson, Lovecraft, Christopher (70's Y.A. yo!), Wells, Martin (though I've resorted to audiobooks for George... I mean come on, who has that kind of time?).
Movies? If its a WWII movie chances are I've seen it, which is good for you.. I won't make you watch them. Sci-fi, and post-apocalyptic are near and dear to my heart. Trollhunter, because its awesome. All the films of Mr. Wes Anderson. Its a tie for which movie is my favorite, between Rushmore and Hanna. I identify with Rushmore, but I bet Hanna would win in a fight.
As for TV, I like The Walking Dead (well pretty much anything on AMC..), Top Gear and by extension James May's Man Lab, Game of Thrones, I have an empty place in my heart because Party Down fizzled, likewise Firefly, though we got a movie out of that one... My favorite TV show has to be Adventure Time. Seriously, the episodes with Marceline and Simon are so touching, they make me weep like a baby. Close second would be Mythbusters. That Star Wars special they just did made me so happy. Third place goes to Survivorman, its not just about staying alive and getting out, his philosophies can be applied to life.
Music? Let's just say I'm about to outgrow an 80G iPod. Texas Swing to Dutch Pagan Metal, 60's Jamaican Ska to Russian Post-pop Punk, 70's Funk to Irish Soul, its all in there. As for which are my favorites? I'll just say this: Everyone should see Iron Maiden in concert once before they die, I wish The Jam were still together so I could see them once before I die, and I just found a band called Dengue Fever, check 'em out, you'll thank me.
Food, hmmm. I had a thing called an Iskander Kebab, it was so delicious I might form a religion around it. I adore middle eastern food. Homestyle Italian food is amazing, Banh Mi sandwiches make me happy, and there is a place here in Sebastopol call Viva Mexicana, I have to eat there only once a week so I'm not forced to change the "Body Type" setting on OKC!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My iPod, Dogs, Breakfast, Clean socks, Peanut Butter and Quality Footwear.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How awesome it would be to have a jetpack. Of course I also think about responsible, non-childish things, but mostly jetpacks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Messin' around or doin' stuff.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've a horse outside...
