Hi! :) My name is Alyssa. I'm 29, a college graduate, home owner, and am very independent. I grew up in a small town and moved to St. Paul for college. I love it here and really enjoy living in a large, multicultural city full of opportunity and things to experience. I love that I can walk out of my door and go to a new coffee shop or store, and meet new people from a completely different background than mine.

I enjoy laughing with friends, meeting other hilarious people, wine tasting, trying new restaurants, comedy shows, watching hockey games, pretending to be athletic, spoiling my niece, and traveling all over the world!

I am happy go lucky, spontaneous, and adventurous. After college, I decided to take a leap of faith, and moved I to London by myself. In London I worked as a social worker with children and families. Along with the purposes of furthering my career, I moved to London in order to gain a once in a lifetime experience, travel, and learn about myself. I ended up staying there for a year and had the best time of my life! I made some amazing friends that I hope to stay in contact, and visit again. While overseas, I was able to realize that I love being home with family in Minnesota. Minnesota is where I want to live my life and settle down.

I am very motivated and driven to have a successful career, but also to enjoy life to the FULLEST! I don't want to look back at my life and have regrets. I strongly believe in having a balance between work and play. I am always reminding myself to be calm, carefree, relaxed, and confident. I try not to sweat the small stuff. Life is too short to not to enjoy every minute! Work hard, play hard!

I am in the phase of my life where I am looking to establish my career and meet someone special. Getting married and having some adorable babies is on the to-do list in the future. I am looking for someone who has similar progressive views on social issues. I could never be with someone who ever needed control over me. I am very free spirited and independent. I really enjoy my alone time, and actually enjoy being single. I think it's very important to love yourself and understand your own wants and needs. I will never compromise and spend time with someone who doesn't value my intelligence, motivation, and beliefs.

I am am adoption social worker at a local non-profit agency. I also attend grad school part time, and am completing a clinical internship, so I have been very busy! I will be graduating with my Master's degree in Social Work in May 2013. After graduation, I look forward to furthering my career as a clinical social worker, and also getting back to focusing on my personal life.

Food: Indian. Thai. Italian. Sushi. Any and all new restaurants. Fancy restaurants. Hole in the wall restaurants. Non-chain restaurants. Homemade meals. Local craft beer. Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio.

This is a difficult question! I realize it makes me sound materialistic. In 2012, I know I'm not the only one who would sound this way. I'll be completely honest and tell you the first 6 things that come to my mind:

My future... Or what I should have for dinner...

I typically prefer to meet friends for dinner or a late happy hour. I like going out places in St. Paul or Uptown Minneapolis where we can sit and hear each other while having a conversation. I have moved on from the bar scene and am not interested in drinking all night. I do enjoy going out for a wild night once in a while though, don't get me wrong!

Nothing on here... In all honesty, I'm a pretty open person. I'm open to discussing things I have gone through in life. I don't feel like I have anything to hide, and I think being open is important in order to connect with someone on a personal and closer level to develop a relationship.
