Contentment is important. If I am content where I am then I will be content where I am going. I am content with where I am only because I know that I continue to grow. If I stagnate I die.

Cargo shorts are the best, pockets are the best accessory.

People come first. I will not compete with the TV. I would rather play cards talking and joking around until 2am then watch TV. Real life only occurs when we interact with each other. I would rather talk in person then on the phone. There is so much communication lost when talking on the phone.

I find joy more valuable than happiness. Joy comes from within while happiness comes from without. I can't always choose my circumstances but I can always choose the attitude I have within what ever circumstance I am in.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I am preparing for a new job that will be sending me out of the country. I read a great deal and enjoy most literary genres. I enjoy walking both the Burke-Gillman and around Green Lake. Camping is what the summer in the Northwest is all about. Dinner parties with the right combination of company, food and wine are an essential part of life. I am learning Arabic and Farsi, both for my job.

Cooking. I cook for who ever is willing to eat. I am currently experimenting with different kinds of sea foods. Salmon, catfish and talapia are all the menu currently.

Obviously the Talking Heads factor in. Elvis Perkins, Eric Bibb, Angelique Kidjo, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, Anjani Thomas, Lucky Dube, Sam Phillips, Alpha Blondi, The Weepies, Fire Water, She & Him and The Decemberists.

Some insight into my television habits, I thoroughly enjoy the House Series' on PBS - Frontier House, Manor House, etc...

Places I frequent are Grinders, Dukes, Ipanema Grill, Luna Bella, Broadway Grill, and Caspers.
