I just started my third year of the PhD program in
Astronomy/Astrophysics at the U of MN in Minneapolis. Before going
back to school, I had a steady lab technician job with 3M in St.
Paul, but I decided to tackle grad school because I wanted to
pursue my life goals, as well as the greater challenges and
When I'm not doing homework or research work, I like to spend time
exploring new experiences around the Twin Cities with friends, new
and old. I greatly appreciate the sense of community I've found
since moving to Minneapolis, and the ease with which I can find
other people who share my interests and outlook on life.
I like to travel
when I can - I had a summer job in Hawaii
in college, spent a few weeks in
graduation, and I also went to Asia
twice on a couple of choir tours. I'll
always enjoy the memory of those experiences, how they broadened my
mind and showed me new, different perspectives on the world. I'd
really like to travel again soon, maybe to Europe again, if I can
save up enough money and time off to make it happen.
