My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In the past few years, I've been to India for six weeks, Ireland for two, and the Caribbean for a week and a half. I spent a week in Vegas. I've hurtled through obstacle courses, pseudo-barefoot while dressed as a lumberjack and while body-painted as a smurf. I'm a Santa-con/Lepre-con enthusiast. I enjoy attending ridiculous events, and meeting all sorts of fascinating people at them.

I love running and races. When possible, I aim for destination races, which offer a delightful excuse to hop about the country.

I love to travel, which has led to many spontaneous trips. I spent a month backpacking in Europe on a whim a few years ago, and am looking forward to abusing my healthy supply of vacation days to try that again with South America as soon as possible.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to find the best French Toast in Chicago.

Training for the Green Bay Marathon and Ragnar (Cape Cod), both in May.

I'm working for a consulting company downtown doing software development- I love the company, my coworkers, and the work itself.

Travelling lots. Fortunately, I'm in a bit of a lull until May.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Foosball. Closing in on #2 in the office league- yes, office foosball is serious enough business that we wrote an app to track stats and rankings.

Golf, pool, board games, all sorts of gadget-tinkering.

Contextual one-liners.

Enjoying the little things. Taking nothing seriously.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I read fairly voraciously, typically around a book a week. Some favorite authors include Patrick Rothfuss, Robert Jordan, Orson Scott Card, Brandon Sanderson, Terry Goodkind, Jim Butcher.

Malcolm Gladwell is enjoyable, as was (Super-) Freakonomics.

A nice variety of fun movies- Inception, The Prestige, Avatar, The Hangover, Stardust and The Matrix.

TV Shows- Sherlock, Firefly, Arrested Development. Game of Thrones, of course. Trying to find time to start/finish House of Cards and Breaking Bad.

Food- yes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Avocados
Bacon

Running
Family (of course)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Esoteric hypothetical situations and their ramifications.

Where I'm off to next. At the moment, Kentucky (Bourbon Trail!), DC, Cape Cod (Ragnar), Green Bay (Marathon) and Croatia (Yacht Week!) are all on the agenda for March through August.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You know of any interesting races, restaurants, or experiences that I should investigate (and/or that you would like to join me in investigating).

If you enjoy XKCD, we should probably be friends.
