I do computer work managing email systems for a living, and I work from home most of the time, so it gives me a lot of flexibility.
Raising two daughters. My 23 year old is living with me for now and going to graduate school, my 14 year old just started high school in Hutchinson, but spends a lot of time here.

I have interests, hobbies, and options galore.

I’m really good at

I just finished a ten year remodel project on a 1920’s house. I even made my own stained glass windows. Love the neighborhood with its BIG trees.
I love furniture building, gardening, reading, music, and raising the kids.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music is very important to me, and my tastes are very wide, Rock, Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass, Blues... I’m a poet at heart, and music has a way going straight to the “core”.
A glance at my bookshelf has Kurt Vonnegut, Isaac Asimov, Shelby Foote, Frank Thomas, and Al Franken.
For movies, I tend to like the best rather than the newest, and mostly comedies: Young Frankenstein for example. I have a couple of plays for DVD that I love by Webber and Sondheim. My favorite movie has to be “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest”. Villains that twist their moustaches are easy to spot, Nurse Ratched, not so much.

On a typical Friday night I am

Once a month I like to go stargazing with some friends. Part of the time, we go to the Lake Afton Observatory. They have a place out back, and we share with the public and help those new to astronomy with their telescopes. Other times we head out to the flint hills, and make a late night of it under really dark skies.

I’d usually prefer a play over a movie, or a museum over a sporting event, and live music is fun.
