I am chthonic, chiropteran, and littoral.
My Self-Summary
I'm Dante. I consume
dirt and
Middle Ages. I am an
environmental
biologist. I'm currently living in Breezy Point and sometimes
in Brooklyn.
I have a passion of the outdoors, and the environment. I love to
kayak, i go both
white water and sea kayaking whenever I get the chance. I love
mountain
biking and
caving. And I wish I was doing more
Rock
Climbing than I am.
I love to get out of the city to do things, and tend to spend
weekends that I am sticking around either biking or kayaking around
the city.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently living on an abandoned coastal defense site that
housed air defense missles into the 1970's, that is now a part of
the national park service. I live with a couple of other folks in
an ivy covered building about 100 feet from the ocean, which would
be perfect except for the fact that it is poison ivy!
I am a Biological Technician conducting research into the health of
the marsh islands in between the Rockaways,Brooklyn and Queens.
I’m really good at
Caving, climbing, biking, kayaking, backpacking, hiking... well
maybe I'm not great at any of them.. but I do love 'em, and thats
what counts.
The first things people usually notice about me
Is that I have sunglasses on.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I really enjoy cooking, before I can even see straight in the
morning I will already be in the midst of preparing some elaborate
breakfast. At some point in the process of cooking I will have
finished making a cappuccino at which point I will regain the
ability to speek. I also love making sushi and Thai curry's.
I tend to like more intellectual darker movies, science fiction and
action are probably my main genres of film, though I love asian and
german films.
Books - I seem to switch back and forth between reading nonfiction
and literature for a few months and then reading trash spy novels
for a couple months. I am a big Arthur Nersesian and Irvine Welsh
fan. I also don't think that Neil Gaiman or Chuck Palahniuk are
capable of writing a bad book.
I, like many of my fellow Americans, have watched too much
television. I can watch just about anything except for reality Tv.
The Discovery and History channels are where it's at.
The six things I could never do without
My
truck to carry my
kayak and
bikes and other assorted
gear, my
ipod plugged
into the dash along with my
phone so that I can keep in touch with
what is really important, my
friends.
oh and a cappuccino maker makes any place feel like home.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I am going to find a job that has health insurance.
On a typical Friday night I am
either working if the tides dictate it, or out with friends either
drinking or going on an adventure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Is that I don't keep anything private.
You should message me if
You have read all the way to here, and can think of something more
to say than "Hi".
or
You like to actually go outside and do stuff.
