My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm blunt but polite. Put together but pretty laid back. Broke but I'm happy? I'm poor but I'm kind? I'm short but I'm healthy, baby? And what it all comes down to...

Okay, you got me. That devolved into an Alanis Morissette song.

But really, I love to laugh about (and at) anything; witty banter is kind of my favorite thing. I'm just looking for genuine, thoughtful people to share experiences with!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm in my 2nd year of med school! Which means I study a lot. Like, A LOT. I'd rather be building blanket forts and hiding out in them, but school pretty much dominates my life right now. But I'm trying to discover more places to explore around town!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening to what people have to say. (And then judging them). Only kidding! People are so intriguing to me, and I think different viewpoints make life that much more interesting.

Finding humor in things. I might come off as a “serious” at first, but underneath it all, I’m probably chuckling to myself.

Also, I’m not gonna lie – I’m pretty good at baking desserts. When I was younger, I wanted to be a pastry chef. I can make a mean white chocolate mousse tart topped with glazed strawberries.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How swole I am... (hah, jk)
But really... I’m Asian, which I guess in Miami is a rarity.
Also, I have shiny hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books – I’m a sucker for dystopian fiction. Don’t know why I like to read about how terrible our world could end up, but I can’t help it. Some good ones – Farenheit 451, Brave New World, A Clockwork Orange, 1984, The Giver, Super Sad True Love Story (which is more recent and really entertaining)

More books – Lolita might be one of my favorite novels, and I’m not sure what that says about me. Love in the Time of Cholera is another favorite, and more recently The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. Anything by Dave Eggars or David Sedaris is usually going to make me pretty happy, too.

Movies – Amelie is just so whimsical and romantique. And the colors are fantastic. The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore are two of my favorites from Wes Anderson. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Dr. Strangelove, Man on Wire, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, 3 Iron, and The Little Mermaid

Shows – I don’t actually have TV right now, but when I did, I liked Top Chef, Man vs. Food (gluttony is gross, I know…), Community, Parks and Rec, New Girl. Arrested Development was also amazing.

Music – I’m into a lot of low-fi, dreamy music these days. Beach House’s Teen Dream hasn’t ever really fallen out of my rotation. Some more recent favorites include Grimes, Chromatics, Youth Lagoon, Phantogram. I still love me some Feist, Grizzly Bear, Cat Power, Neko Case, Beirut, Girls, Mariah Carey

Food – I love it. All of it. Well, most of it. The only thing I don’t like is cilantro, which I really detest. But other than that, I love anything with a little spice (Thai, Korean, Indian). I also think simple combinations (thick tomato slices with buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, and a tiny bit of balsamic vinegar) can be out of this world delicious.

Drinks – They deserve their own category, right? I really like IPA’s and Belgian beers. La Fin du Monde is really great. Also, gin and tonic is my cocktail of choice and the French press is my coffee style of choice
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Laughter
2. Good conversation
3. Fresh coffee
4. My computer/internet/cell phone
5. Travelling/vacation/foreignness
6. Good friends (aww..)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I’m going to travel next (I went to Spain and Morocco this summer!)
What makes people tick
Genetics
How little I know about how the internet actually works
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Studying if I have an exam the following Monday. Enjoying the company of my friends. Having a few drinks at a bar. Losing track of time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like to think that people are inherently good, but I don't know if that's true.
