I have a enthusiasm for life, trying to be fully in the present while I can't deny that I'm excited about what's ahead. I've always had a lot of appreciation for how fortunate I've been and continue to be.
I’m comfortable in my body and believe in taking care of it. I enjoy movement in many forms (yoga, cardio bikes, swimming, weights, bicycling, walking, and this year, maybe, just maybe, I’ll try again to learn to dance – I’m a real piece of work but with patience and persistence…) I also pay attention to what I put into my body, eating healthily. I’ve always enjoyed cooking and recently have been getting a little more creative.
I’m a big fan of outdoor music festivals and concerts, and other events that are so plentiful from May – October. I also like to get out of town on day trips to Whidbey, Vashon, etc. and overnighters to places up and down the Sound. Being near water is a high priority. (From early July, I’m always looking for a lake swim on a warm day.) Beyond overnighters, I’m looking to travel a lot more in the years ahead, in the states and abroad. I’m struggling with learning Spanish for trips south soon. Also, I want to travel to other places around the globe.
I’m an optimist who ultimately finds humor - or lessons - in most things including the hardships along the way. I recently had one: a severe car crash but it changed my life in interesting and positive ways and I am almost fully recovered.
I've always seen profundity in the mundane and awe in the mystery of life. I like conversation about a variety of topics and I find that my passion for life has not dimmed with the years. I'm happiest with people who are not easily contained by a narrow range of experiences and are both curious and in awe about life. I want to be intrigued emotionally, intellectually, and aesthetically.
