I'm slim, active and busy! I live to be outside and I consider myself blessed to be studying a field that will keep me out in my beloved woods all day long. I confess I am a bit of a tree nerd. I'm into conservation but I am not a preservationist. I believe that we can move towards a way of living in sync with nature. I like to be outside, be it camping, hiking, or swimming. I want to learn to kayak. I also enjoy more indoor pursuits including cooking, baking, drawing and reading.

I'm primarily an introvert, but also a very social person. I just have to force myself sometimes out of my little shell. Most people consider me to be outgoing and dare I say a social butterfly, but I consider myself shy. I make friends easily, but it takes them a little bit longer to get to know me. Never fear though, I am fiercely loyal to those I care for.

My latest motto is to live more, desire less.

And you should know in advance that the GAY label here is not that of a lesbian but rather an extremely biased towards women bisexual. Just so you know. Ideally though, I'd rather not be labeled.

I'm a student and for the most part I love school (exams and assignments aside!).

Books: I love to read but have hit a rut lately (aka have little non-school reading time). But some long time favorites are: The Rowan by Anne McCaffrey, Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman, The Outsider, Albert Camus, Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card, and Stardust, Neil Gaiman.

I also enjoy non-fiction too, particularly sociology, biology, mathematics, cooking and history.

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, V for Vendetta, Kiki's Delivery Service, Doctor Zhivago, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Treasure Planet.

I also enjoy the occasional anime, lately Simoun, Revolutionary Girl Utena and Claymore.

Music: Pink Floyd, Our Lady Peace, Metric, The Cranberries, Oasis, you get the idea.

Food: Rice! Japanese cuisine (I'm learning to make my own bento), spicy curries, Mexican because of an un-ending love affair with guacamole, legumes make life better. I'm not veg but I do eat a meat reduced diet (meat 1-2 times a week) for environmental and personal reasons.

Usually at some event/party/out with friends. Fridays are my chill time. Although sometimes because of Saturday morning labs, I can be found at the library reviewing. But that should be over soon, yay!

I learned Swedish because I'm fascinated by Scandinavia (particularly Sweden). I'm going to get there someday! Hopefully soon, either exchange or work term, etc. I'm not even Scandinavian, but I feel drawn to the place.
