I'm something of a lesson in contradiction. The archetypal science
buff who's into walking, reading, birdwatching, computers and board
games. However, I also enjoy team sports and am happy enough
standing giving a presentation to 50 people.
Whenever I end up at one of those 'assess people's personality'
things at work when they and try and categorise me it just breaks

What I’m doing with my life
Just started a new job and going to have a run a learning Japanese.
I’m really good at
Injecting humour into everything I do! Listening and patience and
on the practical side science and maths stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'll read just about anything fiction or fact. Preferences
for sci-fi/fantasy and history. Favourite series of the moment
Dresden Files by Jim Butcher.
Movies: For the cinema it's got to be a special effects fest given
I don't go that often. On the TV I can get into just about
Shows: Any documentary, Sci-fi or crime. Current series on record
are Warehouse 13, Andrew Marr's History of the World and Game of
Thrones. Like a good episode of CSI or NCIS too.
Music: Pretty eclectic mix of likes, but rock/metal predominates in
my owned collection. Everything from Aerosmith through to Gojira
(French thrash metal).
Food: If I'm eating out Indian or Thai are my favourites, but I'm
happy enough with anything as long as it doesn't look back or have
more legs than a sheep (and you can see them). :P
The six things I could never do without
Friends & Family - because what's life without them?
The Countryside - Got to have a bit of green in my life
My car - Need it to get to the things above!
Beer - tastes good ;)
Computers - How did we shop or know anything without them?
On a typical Friday night I am
At home relaxing from a week at work. Saturday is my time to head
